Stuck with worst car in online races? How to borrow better cars?

Okay…I searched and cannot find a thread for this (surely there is, but I don’t see it)…

When I do online races, it says to change cars…it takes me to the screen that says I can borrow cars, but everytime there is only one option…usually a much slower car than the others choose. Is there something I’m missing in having the option to borrow other cars? I am currently in a charger in my main game…and I have over 100,000 credits. It sucks trying to race stuck in a VW Rabbit while the others are racing camaros and BMWs and such.

There’s nothing that is obvious to me that lets me know how to access more cars…any help?

It would help if you play the single-player first, you will get (freely) some cars and you build a nice bank-balance. From there, you can buy a car you like, maybe download a tune and/or design and then go online.

Seeing your XBL-profile is hidden, I can only assume you just bought the game and haven’t spent a whole lot of time yet exploring what options are available to get better cars/credits. 100,000Cr is peanuts; some cars cost multi-million to buy in-game so it seems you haven’t put an awful amount of effort into it yet.
