So back when the game was rumoured there was some art too Togo with it.2 to be precise, one was a 1940 ford deluxe coupe going through stormy dark and foggy weather through a scenery which looked much like STORM ISLAND.So I was just wondering if it was an Easter egg?
No, it wasn’t
Easter egg ?, No it was a 1940s truck
In downtown Nice, there’s an unpretentious outdoor eating spot in the Hotel with relaxing viewing just across from the harbor and main beach where they will be serving special breakfast Easter Eggs on April 5, 2015.
I assume you’re talking about this. Considering the images are in the deep South and that they emerged 6 months before the release of Horizon 2 I highly doubt Storm Island had even been thought of by then.
Surely it was thought of by then if not just a concept. They couldn’t have created an expansion such as Storm Island from scratch after Horizon 2 was released.
If they did, well then slap me in honey and feed me to the bees…
You clearly have no idea of the development time for these things or how a gaming studio runs to begin with. Considering it takes 6 months worth of work hours, or roughly 1032 hours (6 months * 4.3 work weeks a month * 40 hour work weeks), to model one car, and tracks take even longer one can assume an entire world would easily take much more time. Now, with cars, the product is there and all Turn10 has to do is photograph, model, and run audio. With a map such as Storm Island they have to create everything from scratch.
Not only was Storm Island thought of before Forza Horizon 2 was released, it was more than likely past the concept stage with a fully sketched and developed map that was going into production around the FH2 release date.
FH2 Launch Date: Sept. 30th
Storm Island Launch Date: Dec. 16th
Total Days between releases: 77 days
Work days between releases: 55 days - assuming only weekends taken off, no holidays
—> assume Thanksgiving holiday of 3 days puts us at 52 days.
One employee work time: 52 days * 8 hours a day = 416 hours
Hours needed to model 1 car / employees needed = 1032 hours / 416 hours = 2.48 employees
So basically, between the Launch of the game and storm island it would require a minimum of 3 employees to model 1 car. This means if they began working on the January 2015 DLC at the Forza Horizon 2 launch date (Sept. 30th) it would take 18 employees to make the cars. To compare, let’s say they started working on the November DLC at launch. To make 6 cars takes 6192 hours. With 24 work days separating the two, it would require 258 hours a day of work to finish the cars. Accounting for an average 8 hour work day, it would require 33 employees just working on the cars and it may not be possible to do in such a manner.
Obviously, that’s not exactly how things are done, but it gives you the idea of how many people and how much time these things take.
After all this data, do you really think that at the launch of Forza Horizon 2, the Storm Island DLC hadn’t even been thought of? Remember, it would have taken 10% of Turn10’s employees just to make the Storm Island cars if they started at launch.
I remember these pics. At the time no one was even sure if they were Forza-related, the only connection being the guy who drew them does artwork for T10.
The rumor at the time went something like this:
“FH2 in development, Louisiana & Alabama possible locations.”
So is this Easter egg a US thing or am I just missing something ?
There is no Easter Egg. It already hatched before launch.
I prefer Easter Bacon anyhow.
U like bacon too?
