While I don’t really care too much, I’m faintly curious about this Stellantis thing. That led me to something I don’t get.
Some brands present so far in Forza games are not present in FH5. Thing is, some Stellantis brands are present. According to the Hitch-Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (aside - someone really should develop a Babel Fish in-ear translator) . . .
Stellantis brands not in FH5 - Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Citroën and DS, Fiat and Fiat Professional, Lancia, Mopar
Stellantis brands that are in FH5 - Dodge and Ram, Jeep, Maserati, Opel and Vauxhall, Peugeot
I’m guessing it is probably about existing agreements - who bought whom and when they did it.
Entirely academic and unimportant, just curious, that’s all.
Stellantis might have just said ‘looks here are the cheap brands, we’ll let these go at the usual licensing price, these other brands we’ll charge a whopper for.’ They can do what they pretty much want really.
Mopar isn’t a brand, it’s the parts division for Chrysler/Dodge. Used to be called Direct Connection, before that it was Mopar as well (MoPar = Motor Parts).
My thoughts on the issue are tied into T10 and their hold on which vehicles they are willing to let PGG use in the Horizon games. If you read the game credits you will see the licensing division is part of T10 not PGG. I suspect due to the nature of the missing Stellantis brands they are holding them back for Motorsport.
