If you fine yourself fighting your car and your lap times not where they used to be it my be this.
My day 1 controller lasted about 2 months. The left joystick stopped self centering… It didn’t fell broken or sticky. No matter what dead zones I set it to it would pull right. Sent it in for warranty repair with a RMA, they lost it. They sent me a new one and it has worked fine for over a year now. The other night I was racing Forza 6 online and I seamed to be fighting the car alot more then usual. This controller is doing the same thing now, pulling to the right not self centering. I tried increasing the dead zones again, made no difference. I went to the one mile drag strip in a Porsche with a strip at the top of the wheel and before I ever moved the car you see it was a little right of center. If I centered it as soon as I moved the car even very slow it would go a little right of center. I have another controller tried the same thing with it. Worked fine tracked the hole mile never touched the stick. Dead zones set ar 0 - 100 . I am on my 3rd controller now. Never had any problems with my old 360 controller. Controller was up to date also. This one so far is not a bad as my 1st one but I can’t use it for Forza any more.
Has anyone else had there controller do this?
Have you made sure it is fully updated
I’ve had two controllers do that, though it was the right stick that went so the symptoms were slightly different.
So far only issue is charge cord disconnects EVERY time it is moved or sat down… since day one! Wife has same issue straight out of box day one…
Aside from that, easy to tell controller is cheaper made… I do a lot of design also, that is where I notice buttons work slower than old controller…adding time to a completed project. And also since day one…
Every controller I have has done this. After about a year the thumbstick becomes less reponsive. Eventually it’ll get to the point where you can’t turn right (at least for me). Before it got to this point I heard a pop in the controller. From my understanding it’s a piece that keeps the stick planted in the middle. When it breaks the bottom of the sticky floats around the inner part of the controller. If you’re able to keep the stick planted in the middle, you’ll be ok until you have to make last second maneuvers and it the stick jumps out of place again.
If you have a broke and new controller you can tell how bad the broke controller is after playing with the fluid response of a new controller. Lol.
My problem is with the rumble part of the controller, have had problem’s with the vibration for month’s,have to keep shaking it during races otherwise i can’t feel the car biting on gear changes…very annoying…
Does anyone know if the ELITE controllers have this issue? I just bought one and at 150 $ I don’t need this happen down the road as the controller gets older.
Best buy a couple of spares just in case lol no i can’t afford one of those at the moment, must be better all round though surely…
Is anyone dropping the controller or abusing the controller? Both my controllers are still working fine. They are the old ones without the 3.5mm jack and with the bad bumpers.
I have one and I have read elsewhere that some sticks get stuck like the OP stated. However for me it was stuck pointing up. It affected everything from Netflix and dashboard menus to games like Mortal Kombat where the character would just start jumping. I would correct it and then a few seconds or a short time later it would start over again. I didn’t abuse my controller and I have had several with the Xbox One with the rest of them just being not as snappy in response but I did have the one that had that glitch.
No abuse here… never dropped thrown or mashed! Lol… just disappointed purchasing 2 consoles and all that is needed only to have most important item work like a cheap knock off…what happened to quality control? Suppose we should fork out more bucks for elite? Not happening… prob be cheap too!
