controller will not auto center

My controller has started pulling to the right when racing. When applying a vinyl it drifts around not just to the right, but up. When trying to do a fine adjustment with the d-pad. Just pushing the d-pad down will send the vinyl taking off in a upward direction. I have brought up the telemetry where it shows the wheel movement and you can plainly see it move by itself to the right in about 1 to 2 seconds. It will start drifting to the right even while sitting still. I have updated the controller. I have also tried setting the dead zone higher but to get it not to drift to the right I have to set it almost to max. I have search the forums and the internet for a way the calibrate the joysticks to no avail. I did find calibration procedures for the old 360 controller.
Have I already worn out this thing? Has anyone else noticed there controller pulling to the right or to the left?

Yes mine does the exact same thing. Like you said, bring up the telemetry come to a stop center of the stick and just watch it start to drift to the right by itself. I hope I don’t have to buy a new controller every 4 to 6 months because they were out so easily!

https://myservice.xbox.com/en-US/Pages/Welcome.aspx maybe they’ll replace it for you.

My 360 controller does this. I baby my XB1 controller, and it’s still good. I’ve dropped it a couple times, but that’s the extent of the abuse it’s suffered.

We discussed this in another thread somewhere here. In any case, the left stick (I would imagine the right to, but that gets less usage in just about every game) on these controllers is not built to last. I’ve gone through 2 already. and know of people who don’t play Forza that have been through multiple controllers as well, all for the left stick issue.

They xbone one controller warranty is 90 days, but I think the ones that came with the console should be under warranty during the console warranty period (although that’s not totally clear to me). The From now on, all my controllers will be purchased at Costco. My Day 1 edition was sent to Microsoft for repair 2 months ago, and I have nothing back, despite calling them several times and each time they promise to escalate and that I would hear back in a matter of days. Still nothing. My second one that broke was a Costco purchase, and I got it replaced in minutes.

It was obvious as soon as I started playing on day one that the controller was poor quality. Mine has a poor charger connection so I can’t chargenplay. It’s also a pain just to keep the charger lead making a connection so it will charge at all. It frequently disconnects from the game of its own accord. I am finding that the headset connector is so big I’m getting RSI in my right thumb from having to hold the controller at an awkward angle. The old 360 controllers were miles better than this shoddy piece.

Yeah this same thing is happening to me as well. Same exact thing. I also saw about 2 threads on xbox forums, one with over 50 people saying this as well. Some of those guys went through like 3+ controllers already, all doing the same thing.

i have the day one controller with no issues, yeah the build is questionable but no issues.

I suggest you treat your controller with respect instead of treating it like trash.

If you look after anything it will last and i play BF4 aswell and with the way that game is the controller nearly gets launched.
