Makes absolutetly no sense at all why this is. If you people know how to convert, $60 USD is roughly $78 AUD as of 9/25/2016. So atleast set the standard game price at 80 AUD not 100, Seriously this makes no sense at all and i strongly wonder why this has been done and i want a reply from a moderator or a admin with a proper reason and not some bullcrap because of tax. or vat or GST as that makes no sense why you would even include that into our purchases
Its called Australia tax mate … and nothing will ever be done about it !
If the reason is tax/law it doesn’t make any sense to try to reject that as the reason. You guys got the cool animals, we got the lower prices. Fair trade off.
It’s Microsoft that set the prices…its a standard price on all games not just this…EB charges that price too unless you price match or could buy it physical for 69 or 79 depending where tou go
Could always change your region and buy it at the US price if you know how to
Google it
its the min wages, much higher in AU.
There’s nothing standard about FH 3’s pricing, standard edition magically costs 70€ compared to 60$, UE in my country doesn’t cost the typical 100€ but 107€ and it’s the same for other places. Basically, if you’re not in NA you are ducked for this particular game only. UE is a massive investment compared to any regular CE released these days, and you also get what you pay for usually, unlike missing DLC, Vip and pre-order bonuses in FH 3.
You could say that “hey, it’s play anywhere, two games in one” but most people either don’t have an xbox one or those who do, do not have a PC capable of FH 3.
This is going on for a long time however. On PSN, most third party games are 70€. I really hope it isn’t the case, but it was only a matter of time before MS was doing to same thing on their store (although Forza Horizon 3 seems like a first part game). The only place where they don’t dare to change games prices since forever is the US. In all other places game prices went up each generation (well since we have discs instead of cartridges).
Also, as far as I know Australia already gets shafted with the games prices for a long, long time. It is ridiculous and shouldn’t be true, but unfortunately it’s a fact. Some years ago you could still buy a game for a good price in Canada, but with their bad $, that’s not the case anymore either (games there got quite expensive as well).
Unfortunately it is not our countries prices which get more expensive, it is the US prices which don’t follow (not that I want that to happen, I think $60/60€ is a good price and it should stay that way).
The 70€ thing is from what I saw and know only exclusive to EA games with a few other random games appearing from time to time. However, those games cost 70$ in US too, Sony or other publishers don’t jack up prices how they see fit, they set a certain value for all regions.
There’s also a major difference, all those 70$/€ digital games are sold for 60 retail, even 50 depending on the pre-order offer. With Forza Horizon 3 there is no choice for PC, there’s no retail or anything and I doubt there will be anytime soon if ever, unlike Xbox One players which can find it for as low as 55€ retail.
MS has no integrity with the pricing, they randomly jack up prices and it’s not like they’re trying to actually have this game sold, by altering the price for each region so that it’d be an acceptable price for the average wage of each country, they do the opposite, they make it a lot more expensive in random countries where the usual 60€ is already a huge expense and take it up to 70€ or even 80€ (if what I randomly heard from people complaining from some NE countries from Europe is to be believed).
They want to “sell” people on the idea that WIndows Store is the future and that it is very good, but they are trying their hardest to mess it up with everything they do, from worldwide price fairness, to abysmal functionality (all games release so far on the Win Store have performance and compatibility issues because they are made specifically to run through the Win Store and its SDK) and even down to the very core of what linked services from MS are put into their games (like the Groove implementation which was a complete waste of time for the developers if its current lackluster capabilities were what MS was going for from the start).
I think it’s rotten that we pay $140 for a digital game called an “ultimate” edition when it doesn’t even include everything. There’s another pass called the expansion pass, selling for $52 AUD. So if you wanted all of the content you are looking at almost $200 for a digital game. That’s right, while the game still doesn’t work properly and hasn’t even officially been released, they are already working on paid DLC that everybody has to pay more for! Then you hassle you to pay extra for groove music as well, I feel as if this game should almost be free to play considering the amount of money grabbing going on.
Whatever happened to releasing content in the actual game itself instead of putting a price on every little thing and ripping off the consumer…

News flash if you want all the content in forza games it will cost you around $200, it’s been that way for 6-7 years going all the way back to FM4. Nothing new here.

You can always buy an Apple Mac, then you’ll really find out what its like to get ripped off.
Head onto online retailers like MightyApe or even eBay. They only charged $110 AUD for the Ultimate edition + P&H.
Similar rip off for PC gamers. It’s £40 for Xbox owners and £50 for PC owners. 25% markup for no reason.
Does anyone know if the standard editon is comeing out tomorrow night or tuesday i think tomorrow like the ultimate editon ??
Similar problems exist in the UK and it isn’t all down to tax. its mainly US companies that overcharge here, Microsoft marks up the digital games by 30% or so, if it costs £40 ($60USD) in store its £55 on the Xbox store page. From little things like Hot Wheels $1 in the US we are charged $3, to electronics were the mark up is massive, however European products end up being a comparable price between UK, US and EU.
It’s £3 more in the UK for standard. We’re always charged more in UK than US.
Then again, look at houses over there. Sell my small house that costs a fortune and you can buy a mansion with a swimming pool over there!
Trying to figure out why prices for software and IT products in Australia cost more than elsewhere is as confusing as trying to figure out what God was thinking when he seeded Australia with animals …

Hey, if you wanna come live in the UK, I’ll happily move to Australia! Bastard of a place to move to
Yeah is a little rip off but everyone makes this
Standard FH3 in the US in $ 59.99 = 53,43 €
Standard FH3 in EU in € 69.99 = 78,57 $ = 103,06 AUD
