So SEASONS or BIOMS?

I remain uncertain whether Forza Horizon 6 will feature full seasonal cycles across the entire map or just biomes?

In Developer Direct seasons were mentioned but only two snow-covered locations were shown, whereas in the Forza Horizon 4 trailer developers explicitly demonstrated how the same locale transforms across different seasons. Additionally, I have encountered references to a northern region characterized by permafrost, further suggesting a biome-based approach rather than seasons.

There are definitely seasonal cycles. That is clearly demonstrated and discussed in the trailer, with autumn colours, spring cherry blossoms, and other seasonally distinct phenomena.

There might also be biomes, like the northern region you speak of, that may change by the season still but not as dramatically, so you’ll always have snow in the northern region and the southern region may always be tropical. That seems implied by some of the stuff we’ve seen, but I can’t speak more confidently without more information.

I commented much the same on their video today because a Biome is not Seasons.
A Biome is “a geographical region with specific climate, vegetation, animal life, and ecosystem.”

I know across the length of Japan weather can vary as much as it does across the length of USA.
Thus, gets super snowy in the winter up in Hokkaido, but is still Temperate / Sub- Tropical the farther South you go.

One might assume from the video that a part of the map is always winter? As if Japan has a geographical region that is tiaga / tundra? ..you know a Biome.

So yeah, I’m curious what are they talking about specifically here.

Both. It’s not an either-or situation.
