Nice video, but way too short. :stuck_out_tongue:

Always nice to see game studios behind the scenes.

Not sure how I feel about them using government money, I wouldn’t mind if it were a indie studio, not someone with a huge foreign company behind it.

I don’t know what the income taxes are in the UK. But isn’t it high like half your paycheck goes to taxes?

It’s not really money given to them by the government. They get tax breaks which means that don’t pay as much, therefore leaving them with more money for development and other costs. A common reason to get a tax break is to locate your business in a selected area or only get local materials/goods etc (depending on the business), so that it might help revive or build up other businesses and industries in that area,

The basic rate is 20% which goes up to 40% if you earn something like £40-45,000 a year. I’m not sure on that figure.

Thanks for posting this, a great peek behind the curtain. It was interesting to see the detail in the wireframe model and i wasnt expecting them to smash up old cars/parts and record the sound but it makes perfect sense. Just shows how far gaming has come and how much more effort it takes to get the whole game to the higher standards of today.
