Single Player - Free Play - homologation questions and starting position

Hello,

I’ve played Forza 4 in the past. At one time I was able to apply any mods I wanted to any car and race with it.

  1. Has that feature been taken away?

  2. What are the settings required where I can apply any kind of mod I want and use the car in free play with out restrictions.

  3. In the higher degrees of championship cups can the cars in the division be upgraded more freely or is it as restrictive.

  4. Is there any logical, specific reason as to why my car starts in 12th place every time?

  5. Why isn’t starting position based on best laps, clean driving and previous wins. This has to be the most frustration part of this game. I am tired having to try to bust through 11 other cars EVERY race.

Thank you for your time and effort regarding my questions.

  1. In free-play you can go into the advanced race set up options and change the restriction to just PI, or set min and max PI. Just note when doing this the game will select stock cars that meet the PI requirement. It does not auto-upgrade cars to a PI restriction. AI cars are only upgraded when using a homologation division.

  2. See answer #1

  3. No, the single player career races require homologation and for the most part it does not become less restrictive with faster cars.

  4. In career I think your starting place is based on difficulty. It ranges from 8th to 14th (guessing a bit). In free-play there are options for where you start based on PI.

  5. See #4.

So is the only reason to upgrade and balance parts to avhieve a certain Pi or Class, for free play ?

  1. If you go in with a car not matching its homologation then you get random opponents, which may or may not be driving cars you want to race against.

  2. Change division to “Any”.

  3. Largely dependant on the division as well as which car you pick. In a division limited to D350, some cars have the same freedom as cars from an S800 division.

  4. 12th place is middle of the pack in a 24-car grid.

  5. Because it’s supposed to be challenging. Tip: Unbeatable difficulty with standard race length will only frustrate you.

#3 is a huge flaw in the system IMO but let’s not get into that.
