I have made a post as to why I am disappointed with Forza 7 regarding to the loot crate and rewards system. Remember when you could change your difficulty(Driving difficulty like turning off assists) and earn more after each race? This feature has been completely replaced. Now you can only earn more credits by obtaining MODS which is shame. This makes it seem Pay to earn than anything else. However, I am not going to bash on this game because I have not played Forza 7 therefore I cannot make any attempts to give anyone my opinion on the gameplay as a whole. This is why I am requesting for your help!
I would like to tell everyone that I lean more towards the career mode than anything else, is it better than the past previous games?
How are the driving physics? ETC
I would like for everyone to state their pros and cons or perspective and input on which game I should purchase. Thank you for your time!
For me, FM6 was the best console racer I’ve ever played, and I’ve been playing racing games since the NES. FM7 needs some work. If you haven’t played 6 yet, get it for cheap and pass the time until 7 catches up.
That said, if all you’re interested in is single player, 7 is quite good.
I meant the driving difficulty and not the drivatar difficulty, sorry. I am aware that you can make the drivatar difficulty harder and earn a better payout
If you want to play single player, buy forza 7
If you like playing with friends, buy forza 6 or pretty much any other forza game other than 7.
7 has a very good single player mode with the homoligation system and good rewards system and progression, but the multiplayer part of the game is absolutely awful in every sense of the word. There are no class based hoppers, no infected game mode, no drift lobbies, no drag lobbies, private matches have no option for AI drivers. (It’s just not good.)
Multiplayer right now is bad but they are adding some things tomorrow and will continue to do so. The actual driving experience is much better than 6 though.
Forza 7 hands down. Everything is better than 6. I have been playing Forza since the launch date of Forza 1 and each game has been significantly better than the prior game. The only reason to buy 6 instead of 7 is price.
I’m sure Xbox will have it’s end of the year holiday sales like last year, so maybe Forza 6 Ultimate (or whichever edition you prefer) will be on sale.
I’d get FM6 and get a good ways in to it then pick up FM7. You’ll boost your tier rating which when you launch FM7, will get you a bit more goodies. I like FM5, same for FM6(especially since FM6 doesn’t force me to sit through credit and x count and stare at it before it continues, FM7 doesn’t either). I think FM7 it even better than FM6.
I had some dislike toward FM7 when I first played it, I even returned it for a full refund. Then things began to change and I purchased it again. Now I love it. I really do love everything about it. The Homologation is brilliant to me now even though at first I wasn’t hip to it. The way leader boards work makes perfect sense to me now and I believe it to be superior than to the way it was before (and I was quite vocal with opposition against it earlier) Some might say I’ve drank the Kool Aid, perhaps so, but I do believe I have seen the light and I like what I see. Go for FM7.
I had similar feelings about homologation initially. I’ve found the more they force me into driving these cars I would have never bought or driven before the more I like it. I drove a very early Ford Fiesta in one of the series and had a blast with that little car and the series in general. I’m now a fan of the system. It needs a bit more polishing and refinement but I believe they will get there.
I also like to play through single-player mostly, and the campaign in 7 is miles better than 6. In fact, of the Motorsport series, I’ve played 2,3,4,6 and 7, and 6 is the only one I haven’t finished, I just got too bored and frustrated with the lack of feeling of progression. So far I have finished up to the first Elite cup/ championship thing, and I’m still having a blast in career. Haven’t touched multiplayer yet, waiting for leagues.
It is annoying how turning off assists no longer earn you bonus credits, but if you’re not picky about what cars you wan’t, you get the option of getting a car either for free or at a discounted price every time you level up, and with races set to long, that’s practically a car every race (if you can afford it/ it’s free).
if your deciding which to buy… it comes down to a few factors, namely how much do you like tuning cars?, are the 460+ cars in forza 6 enough?, which version of mods do you prefer? are you getting the XBOX ONE X?
if you like tuning forza 6 is clearly better as a result of the homologation system, compared to the standard PI system only… if you want more tightly restricted races than other forza games then you’ll like forza 7 more.
if 460+ cars (the pre-DLC car count of forza 6) isn’t enough forza 7 is for you… but realistically how many are you going to drive; maybe 100
if you like mods that only increase payout forza 7 is for you, if you like mods that are track mods, performance mods and payout mods than forza 6 is better.
if you are getting a xbox one x then you’ll probably want forza 7
i’m playing through career, but if they haven’t fixed the game by then i’ll probably be going back to forza 6… forza 6 was a significantly better overall game… as someone that has owned every forza game i find forza 7 to be the worst forza for the time it came out; i often call it forza in name only… forza 7 is more like a typical racer (gran turismo, need for speed, mario kart) than a typical forza game; needless to say i’m not impressed, i hope they fix it , but i’m not counting on it.
Don’t forget all the new content and contests that will be offered from now & into the future will be for Forza 7, not 6. You’ll feel left out. Right now we have the Josef Newgarden Rivals contest going on (You won’t get that in 6 nor will you get any fresh content). People make a big deal about Homologation and the old Rivals & Leader Board format. Well, I played FM6 & FM5 & FM4… If you wanted to go for a top time on the boards in the P class for example, well you were pretty much stuck with using the same car for almost all the tracks! The #55 Mazda. Just about every class left you with very few options in car manufacturers. Personally I got a little tired of having a beautiful stock high performance Vette or Porsche get blown away by someone driving a shopping cart with a rocket engine strapped to it.
With FM7 you will get to run your stock showroom beauty against other similarly homologated cars for top position on that particular leaderboard.
Alrighty, I’m really excited for either game, last time I player a Motorsport title was Forza 4. I have been playing the Horizon series ever. However, I think it’s time for me to return to the Motorsport series. I heard that some cars are only obtainable by opening loot boxes… Question is how many cars are only obtainable by opening loot BOXES. Hopefully, not too many.
I don’t know this to be factual but I’ve been told in forums and read other sources that say none are locked in loot boxes. Now having said that some will only be available through Forzathon and other events. Otherwise you may get any of them as you level up as the cars you get are random. You and I would likely not get the same car for hitting driver level 15 as an example. Another possibly will be the auction house when it opens up but we all know what the prices will be like on the rare desirable cars. I’m not in anyway saying you can’t roll the dice and hope for a legendary ride from a loot box, you can certainly do that but if what I’ve seen is correct you don’t have to.
