It isn’t letting me launch multiplayer no matter how many times I try.

My wife and I are having the same issue. Not only are we not able to create private matches, we are not able to join “existing” multiplayer games. I have been a long time supporter of FM and Turn10, I owned the original forza, 3, 4, 6 and now 5, of those 5 is the only one that I did not purchase from a store (as I waited for it to become a game with gold). Not more than a year ago I was still playing online races on FM3, meaning that FM5 servers should still be active. So far as I can tell this has been an issue for over 3 years. Much of my family (myself, wife, dad, brother, and several others) has played FM and supported it and I guarantee that if this type of thing becomes an issue and we can noy play with each other any long we will cease to support FM and Turn10. You certainly are not the only racing game on the market and I would just as soon give my money to EA because the need for speed series has been just as good to us.
i have the same problem. i don’t take any lobby online with my friends.
also i can not create any kind of private lobby
for me the servers are down

They have since announced that servers are back up and running but a lot of people still seem to be having issues so stay patient.
