YEP, i’m excited with more single player things to do. At least I know my blood wont be boiling from other players purposely ramming me into buildings to win a race. Clean racing isnt rewarded AT ALL. I’m still mad about that guy hitting me the other day
Now if they would only add the E46 CSL. God, I love that car.
Ok back to being negative. They heard our complaints about the lack of content on Fortune Island, so they are giving us 4 trial events. Something we all love.
This “games as a service” plan is starting to really **** me off. Just put the stupid car in the autoshow and be done with it. I don’t have the time or patience to do these monotonous tasks in your half baked game.
There is a lot of negativity and frustration here. IMHO the game is not perfect and is evolving in some good directions but obviously you can’t please everybody all of the time. I’ve had hundreds of hours of entertainment out of the game so far which makes it pretty good value for money.
My list of wants is probably different to others but I wouldn’t moan and complain because mine are not delivered first.
I’d love to see cheats removed from the high scores, I’d also like more achievements, especially ones that gave me, well a sense of achievement. But hey ho it’s what it is and I still think it’s one of the best games ever released and getting better over time.
Oh and for the record I used to hate drifting with a passion until I actually started to get better at it, now I really enjoy it so for those that hate it give it another go and you may start to enjoy it.
I am similar to you in many respects. Been playing regular since launch and got my moneys worth but many suggestion for improvement. Am patient.
However mine and others frustrations comes not from not getting our wishlist, it is an ongoing and repetiive cycle of launching and releasing or changing things without forethought of the player experience. Over and over again stuff has been done not to create something fun, but instead to force a negative experience to achieve a desireable goal.
Despite many months of articulate feedback and repetition over and over, this stuff happens anyways. So people who would like the game to get better and more enjoyment see it going the opposite way.
They show capri FE as an award. How many cheers can you find for that vs complaints on how to go about getting it? It has generated far more negativity on the whole vs anything positive.
Fair points, I get your point of view but my experience has been different. I’m happy with the way the game has evolved from the start, it’s my first pre order Forza, I played FH3 near the end of its life cycle so I guess that it also had a lot of updates early on. This version is an evolution for me and has improved with each update. I’m very happy to have some new achievements as that seems to be what I enjoy most
My only real criticism is that overall it’s a lot easier to complete than 3 but a lot of 3 was grinding to get the achievements so I guess I can’t have it all ways.
Having said that some of the achievements in 3 were very hard and gave me a real sense of satisfaction when I got them, I have not seen the same effect in 4, nothing was really difficult but that could just be that I got better at playing.
A mix of both for me. There are no long term or invested challenge outside of ranked play. With skill and experience, most every part of H4 can be gotten with relative ease. Nothing I would consider satisfying or an enjoyable challenge.
That is where they are so close with this one, but the miss was a critical miss. Going for bullseye, but hit for two points. It is a month long challenge. FANTASTIC! It requires a mix of skills and achievements! Excellent! Both solid things in a game for longer term play.
But they just gave too much. There is no wiggle room or way for players to find their own path. Some way to tabulate or give players a bit of breathing room who want to go for it. To put extra time and effort into one side. Harness their strength of play to account for what they are weak in. But that isn’t there. People want to go for objectives. This is just not a good way to do this. There are going to be players down an not even try (I am going to pass because there are a couple bits of play I don’t enjoy) and there will be more that they will lose out on.
Like I said in transparency discussion, they should propose this stuff to playerbase for feedback ahead of time. Could have presented it as upcoming feature a month ago. Gotten all our feedback and at this point it would be a hyped up and exciting event. There is no reason ever that new events in a game should bring more negative reactions than positive. At the end players should be sad to see it go and looking forward to the next one. It is basic fundamentals of business and design. A business MUST communicate with their clients. There is absolutely no reason any of us should be grumbling about these things. We grumble because we like the core of the game but are not able to enjoy the main events around it. Like a passionate player who loves the sport, but is constantly benched.
Again eloquently put, I would appreciate the criticism more if it was as constructively put as yours. I have reached the point in the game where I play out most of the weekly challenges and not much else so this update for me is a good one, especially the addition of the new achievements. When I look back to the release and remember how much of the game was flawed and how so much has improved now I am still optimistic that it will eventually reach the point where it is all things to all players. Other than the relative ease of completion I’m pretty happy with it. I certainly feel I have had my money’s worth even without the next DLC expansion.
Fortune Island was a bitter sweet experience because although the look and design were almost flawless the content was far too easy and quick to complete. If you compare it to Blizzard Mountain or to a lesser extent Hot Wheels they required a much bigger time investment to succeed. I guess it’s a fine line that they have to tread, the Hoonigan expansion from H3 for instance was for me a real challenge that took time to learn and eventually complete, there has been none of that in 4, the biggest criticism that has been levelled against that I’m aware of (amongst many) it is that it has been dumbed down to meet the common denominator. This I tend to agree with, the avatars, clothing and dancing do nothing for me but It was not designed for me alone and I don’t really begrudge them being there, would be great if there was an option to turn them off though!
Earlier on when they introduced the “Service Check” or whatever it was called for the update and addressed a lot of quality of life issues I felt like things were on track and they made it seem like that would be a regular thing. Back then we were also getting some things fixed that we were complaining about like certain car sounds. Since then nothing really has been fixed or addressed that the community has been asking for/about. Instead we keep getting stuff no one has ever asked for.
This. Ferrari Superfast still sounds like a weak tinny mess. Some Lamborghinis fall into the same boat. I’d have thought these immersion breaking issues would have been solved by now.
It’s literally just a feature that forces you to complete EVERYTHING every week and EVERYTHING during the entire month to receive awards. A totally new way to play!!!
I just want the damn Viper’s and Skyline’s fixed. I’ve never been a fan of Viper’s but I’d love to give them a try, but they honestly have some of the worst sounds I’ve ever heard in any racing game. And the sound quality of the Skyline’s isn’t much better.
Viper is one of my favorite cars 'n I can’t use them in this game cos they sound so terrible. They were pretty accurate in H3 so IDK what happened there. Lambos sound and feel weak. Aston Martins are so far off it’s not even funny. Skyline R34 isn’t awful, but it is pitched up a bit too high. The R33 and 32 don’t sound terribly far off, but they are rather mellow feeling. Least the Prelude doesn’t sound too terrible. I owned one of those 'n it’s pretty close to accurate. The V8s are laughable in most cases. I have to engine swap the Superfast to get it remotely driveable 'n that just shouldn’t be a solution. The McLaren P1 is way off, but they had it pretty accurate in H3. Diablo sounds too tame tho the engine note is pretty accurate. The modern hemis sound and feel weak. The Dodge Demon isn’t even remotely accurate at all. Sound and performance is waaaay off. The supercharger winding up sounds horribly granulated. I have a very hard time driving any of the modern Dodge cars equipped with Hemis in cockpit view. Just about all sounds lack lows and lower mid weight. The whole thing sounds like it was engineered by some moron EDM producer. Remove all weight 'n low end so it sounds great on small insignificant speakers, but for those of us with rather high end gear it sounds awful. This game doesn’t sound remotely right on any of my sound systems. My studio monitors which I use for my gaming/production rig - (PMC two two 8, Presonus Sceptre S8, Mackie HR824 MK1 + ADAM Sub10), my dolby atmos system , or my car stereo (yes, I did connect it a laptop to my car to test this ) which is kitted out quite well (MB Quart all around).
Can somebody please help me understand this, correct me if I’m missing something as I didn’t watch the stream. How is this a new way to play? Aren’t we just doing the same seasonal events as before?
A lot of the updates in this series just seem to be there to force people to play things they don’t want to in order to get rewards/cars/achievements (ie. Trial events & multiplayer in general). I got excited when I saw the M3 GTR, but if I have to do the seasonal trial events or anything to do with multiplayer, forget it, I just don’t care anymore.
