Last night I set a time on El Pipila scramble with the CJ5 that put me currently at #149 on the leaderboard and I was pretty happy with that.
Woke up this morning and saw @geistwriter’s new time and decided to go back to bed.![]()
I’d prefer to keep my Renault 5 time on the board but I can share this if anyone wants to try it out, should do consistent 1:45’s and 46’s without having to really push it.
Like I say I’ll be keeping my 5 time unless I can come across/create a build that can threaten those two in CJ5’s at #10 and #12, this one is pretty good but isn’t it.
Because I just have to don’t I…
I just have to dangle the carrot in front of myself…
My 2nd attempt at a build has already passed the one at #12 but shown little indication it can even get near #10, then I threw this in with rewinds on the 2nd + final dirt corners, that would beat the fastest CJ5 by 0.129.
To do that clean though? Probably less than a 1% chance.
I’m curious if your build is a power or handling build? I tried a power build, but no way my driving skills were good enough for a clean lap on El Pipila.
I then made a good handling build on offroad race tires. It put up a decent time on El Pipila at #149 but it’s slow as molasses so it wouldn’t be viable for sprints.
Still a handling build but this 2nd one has more power than my 1st attempt and it still handles more than well enough in the corners.
It still has the street transmission though so I can’t adjust the gears and the shift penalty is still heavy for us in auto, if I was driving MC I think I could beat that time with only some reasonable difficulty but I haven’t done that in about 11 years and I’m not about to start now lol.
Edit: Went back to 1st build and changed a few things, that’s in the 1:43’s now but still behind souls level’s time.
Tune is now shared.
I had to call it a day after doing a few laps chasing some idiot who got off beeping their horn every corner.
Finally beat them by a good margin so they wont be a threat anymore.
Going to try @TheGillesMuller tune later fior the CJ5.
@geistwriter time is wickedly fast and the tunes i tried were lacking.
Took long enough but I finally did it with another couple of tweaks to the tune, and as a bonus beat 2 of the RZR 1000’s for #8 on the board, technically #4 if the cheats are ignored.
The final tune is shared now, if anyone DL’ed my earlier one please delete it, the softer ARB’s on that made there be a chance it could roll in 2 of the dirt corners, that issue is sorted with the current one.
Edit: Oops I mean technically legitimate #5, sorry Noobster ![]()
rear race ARB without any adjustment fixed rolling for me. also I have room for more power in my build, gonna try again later. will share mine Thursday morning for the trial
I’ve tested 27 car/tune combinations on El Pípila (3 laps solo race auto gears 11 AI) and most of them should do well at The Trial. For me the following stood out above the rest but obviously there are other factors such as what is the 2nd race, teammates etc.
The K-10 and CJ5 handle well and it’s easy to do clean laps, the Scout and the Wrangler had better top speeds. All four easily beat the AI with very similar finishing times.
I made some liveries for the trial. As usual I cribbed off @TheGillesMuller’s list. I made liveries for the CJ5, Scout, plus the above Bronco, Defender, and FJ40.
That’s fewer than usual, but I also spent a lot of time on a special limited edition Scout one for the 20k download commemoration.
This is definitely a category I’ve neglected, so I’m glad I made some progress with some.
jeep is shared, picked up another .267

Good to know

I’ll give it a run later tonight. 10 spots behind you on Gilles tune ![]()
I know it’s early but looking to get into some tuning and testing this weekend.
Not a good quality screenshot but it looks to be Sport Utility Heroes.
I would assume it’s A800 but given recent Trials have been a class under what they should have been and both vehicles in the thumbnail start out in C class…
Anyway, @geistwriter pointed out that the track in the thumbnail is Restos.
Going to be testing the SUH’s there. The rivals course doesn’t include the Horizon Wilds and other props in that section so it’s a bit easier to navigate through that part.
Sure hope it’s A800 because that’s what I’m testing for now.
May as well throw these screenshots in here.
Interesting that the main map seasonal championship is Unlimited Offroad & Buggies. I’m going to assume they mean Unlimited Buggies.
I suspect the strongest option is not going to be very popular amongst some on here…
I will run them all probably on Sunday/Monday though, Restos is my favourite part of the Titan so I’m more than happy to try out all 20 (there’s actually 21 but one of them is the I-Pace).
I’m guessing that one will be the Rivian R1S. I confess I haven’t spent a lot of time racing that one so it should be interesting to test its capabilities.
I am really really looking forward to this coming week…so much rally.
tested Restos A800 today, got the Rivian up to #71 (after subtracting the 15 obvious cheaters)
same build I have shared, slightly different gearing
2004 Vauxhall VX220 Turbo next to Mazda RX-7 '97 in the Autumn Season (Rally Adventure) in the Seasonal Championship (Sprinting Ahed)?
p.s. It will probably be added in the future, but this car is definitely not in the game yet.
this has happened a few times with cars that haven’t been added yet
I’m glad some of these leaked cars are actually coming into the game, the CCX in this weeks playlist was leaked in an early expansion trailer too, and the Huayra on the anniversary screen, and the Porsche 906 that was put into the Autoshow recently was also seen on a post for Porsche’s official social media.
