I was happy to buy the $100 Ultimate Edition of Horizon 3, considering that included everything, right?
Then the expansion came out, and I had to pay for a pass. That made me a bit angry, but I was willing to do it. Besides, unlike the mess of the new Motorsports games, Horizon is actually fun.
And now I’m supposed to pay for the Porsche pack, the one car pack I was genuinely excited about.
Now all I’m left with is a multiplier for wheelspins that’s even more useless than in Horizon 2, 6 mediocre car packs, and a snow expansion I’ve already gotten bored of.
So no, I’m not buying the Porsche pack. Yes, I knew the car pass expired at 6 car packs (though I didn’t realize this was the 7th until I was already excitedly ogling the Porsches). And yes, I’m still mad at this godawful money-grab of releasing the one pack everyone wants when they have to pay extra for it. I really hope others will join me in boycotting this load of crap (Edit: There’s nothing bad there. A quite mild word for fecal matter). I was already planning on not paying a cent for Forza Motorsport 7. The incessant schemes for milking more money out of fans needs to stop.
PG’s grand total of money pulled from me is about $130. Good job.
Edit: The above was a rage-fueled post knowing I wouldn’t be able to live with myself for giving more money to the DLC crusade and getting the Porsches I so dearly wanted. I just want to clarify that I understand completely what the Ultimate edition includes, but that it’s still a kick to the (lower areas) to have to pay for new DLC after buying what would, for any other game, include all DLC. At this point I’m tired of buying DLC for games I’ve already payed good money for, and I have noticed Forza games are the worst offenders of this. So yes, I know and knew I would have to pay for the expansions and car packs after the 6th (and again, I’m mostly annoyed that the Porsche pack was released specifically to be the 7th that people had to pay extra for), and that the only extra rewards I would get from the Ultimate edition were Doubled Wheelspins and 42 cars. It just still annoys me. Hope this wards of the blind fanboys for a while.

Your opinion doesn’t matter, and your $130 doesn’t matter either. They’ll make a profit regardless. The key to boycotting is to force the business past zero profit, then they’re actually losing money. That will never happen with any Forza title.
I’m also quite upset but everyone should know this is how businesses are supposed to work. Maybe not on this large of a scale, but the concept still stands: businesses exist solely for profit. And when you get down the smaller businesses: “when a man’s money low, he’ll start doing stuff he never would have done before.”
Neither Microsoft nor none of its affiliates, e.g. Turn10 and Playground Games, will likely never experience any form of profit loss. I’d like to see the net for just Forza Horizon 3, but as far as I know those are kept confidential. The devs at PG and T10 have screwed up so much stuff, by now more people should have realized how bad they’re getting ****** than there are now. But people are becoming more and more clueless as each day passes and are essentially oblivious to what level they’re actually on. I’m in college and I have a good enough job that allows me to afford the extras, but it’s getting so ridiculous that I think I’ll just buy the stock game and wait to see what comes out later on before buying any extra DLC.
