RUF CTR2 handling issues

I searched the forums forums and wanted to know does anyone have a good open S1 tune, for off road and track. I love these RUF cars but cant seem to get them to handle. Any help would be appreciated.

I tend to like what I tune. I’ll put one up for you in S1 and S2 tonight when I get home from work. Search my name–the same as here.

Thanks, I’ll give it a try. I tuned my AMX to be able to handle track/off road as a A class car but haven’t had any luck with the ctr2. I go awd to shift some weight up front but slip and slide all over. Maybe it is my throttle control. It’s the only car that whips my but with a solid top tune.

It’s because the engine is in the rear and not the front or the middle.

You need to be careful taking corners as throttle control is even more important in this car. Make sure that you never enter corners at 100% throttle - if you are in a corner and you lift off the throttle then the balance of the car shifts and can cause you to slip, slide, and spin out into a ditch; however, you can apply slightly more throttle to help get you through the corner. Of course, this means you have to have a good line coming in and be ready by approaching corners at the correct speed.

If you’re interested - when I get home and finish all the things I have to do before I can get on - I can set up the car and share it with you to see if you like it.

I use the AMC Javelin as S1. Tune should be up within three hours.

That makes perfect sense about the throttle control. It must be the weight dist. the front end Doesn’t feel like it grabs the road to well and when it does my tail end slides out. I won’t be able to get on tonight.

Ok. I’ve shared a tune and it’s called mr satan. Try it out and let me know what you think.

It doesn’t slide around a lot but it understeers quite a bit. I’ll have to put in more time into if you’re serious about it - but for now, I want to go eat so time to cook dinner. That said, it’s still a top 100 tune in Saint-Martin.

EDIT: I’ve got a V2 up as well for you that I’ve put to 35 at West Colline Cross Country but I really don’t want to put a lot more time in the car as I won’t use it often on my own. I’m trying it as well on City Rapide in Nice to see if there isn’t anything I can do to make it better with a couple attempts at a circuit race.

LAST EDIT: 5 Laps put it in at a high 43 seconds (#370) on City Rapide Circuit and I’m not changing anything on V2. This isn’t really suited for my driving style.

Please let me know which version you like better so I can further assist you.

OK, I SWEAR THIS IS THE LAST EDIT: I had kind of a point to prove so I decided to see what I could do since I was close. I made a RWD version of the CTR2 and put it at 1076 with a time of 41.71 seconds. on City Rapide. I’d try for more but I’m going to go play Project Cars so…

I’ll run it and see how it does. Diabolical name

I did make a V2 and then I also made a RWD version. That one isn’t shared and I’m unsure if you’d be interested. The RWD is definitely better for the circuits and Nice or sisteron road races. In any case, none of these three cars are slow. I’m sure they’d all do well online, it’s just that there are so many cars that are so much better I’d never jump in this.

I had originally misread your name and thought it said Hercule (from DBZ) and thus I called the car mr satan.

PPidrive I liked that tune but your right about the understeer. Definitely a solid road tune. Thanks for sharing it. It seems that allot of the other tunes are parts thrown on without the actual tuning. Going to try MookStunna as well. Thanks again

Thanks again, PPidrive, V2 handles better and I think Ill adjust my style to it. I appreciate the help, yeah I like awd over rwd.

I am unsure if I shared the RWD version but I suggest you look for it. I believe that the car handles much better in RWD than AWD and in RWD form it handles much better than some other RWD cars. Ive also gone out and played with the yellowbird a bit in AWD and found that though it is ok, it doesn’t work out for me and a RWD set up would be ideal.

In S1, my Hummer runs the finale quicker than the Yellowbird in AWD. Why? Confidence, ease of driving, have to really cut momentum for any sort of corner in the RUF, and I just plain don’t like it. Sure, I was playing while watching a movie but the time difference as in the 3-5 minutes range…

MookStunna were you able to share that tune? I haven’t found it, thanks.

I’ll try it as a rwd, I don’t do so well driving it. I can use so many other cars with ease at s1, maybe that’s why I want to keep on the Ctr. You dont see many of them.

Thanks

Porsche’s(RUF) require more skill from drivers, no matter how you tune them. A lot deals with your throttle control. I’m no expert, but have spent a lot of time learning to drive Porsche cars on games since Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed. That center of gravity is key to understanding the driving dynamics. That is why I love driving Porsche/RUF for the challenge.
