Didn’t see a help thread already, thought it would be good to keep all Route Creator issues and suggestions contained to a single support thread.
Right away I noticed that you cannot check the map while creating a route if you have manual shifting enabled. The checkpoint placement defaults to the map button (back/view) with manual transmission turned on. On PC you can use the M key on the keyboard to get around this limitation, but if you plan on creating a route on console and want to reference the map at all, I’d suggest you switch from manual to automatic transmission before starting your creation.
No Street Scene / Street Race support as feared, so no options for new races with traffic at all. This means absolutely no variety for Street Races beyond the stock 20 short route and one longer Street Race (Marathon) for good. I really hope they can do something about this in a future update.
Along with that, you cannot start any custom routes from any of the Street Scene starting locations / icons on the map, so that’s 20 potential starting positions gone.
An option to delete our created routes. Does this exist? I cannot find a way. I would like to remove and recreate one now that I’ve figured out how to view the map within the Route Creator.
I’m not sure if this is intentional, but when you exit a custom created race, your car is spawned back in free roam where the original race ended. This can be a bit annoying when you haven’t bought the Fairlawn manor yet or ended your custom race on the other end of the map.
To delete a route you have to go and create a new blueprint event at the same icon / location of where you created your route, and then on screen where you can choose your route instead of the default for the blueprint, it gives you the option to delete your route. It will warn you that all blueprints associated with that custom route will also be deleted.
Not very intuitive, but it is possible at least. Seems like it should be an option somewhere in the creative hub menus.
At the Castle Cross Country Circuit I tried to create a circuit race.
However, when you return to the starting point, a warning is displayed if you have not passed the checkpoint.
I estimate that the cause of this error is due to overlapping placement of the starting point and checkpoint. (And that checkpoint is not what I put)
I made a confirmation that I might be wrong start point. But with the right route I was making a course.
There are no problems with checkpoints other than the start point, and AI is also running on the course correctly.
Edit: Perhaps this error seems to be related to the checkpoint in the castle.
I was creating a course that lay out checkpoints in the castle, but in this layout an error occurred at the starting point, and me and AI cars were respawn in the castle.
I created a course with a different layout. A similar error occurs, but it could be registered as a course.
