Rivals Challenge - FH5 Edition

I’m always good for wrapping my car around the railway supports on this course.

S2 will take some getting used to after last weeks tasks and rivals challenge.

I tried the MC12 first, felt good and I got it to 2:08.something, I didn’t realise how much it loses out on the straights until I gave another car a try though, I’m sat at 2:06.360 in the F40 C for now.

I’m a second off Gilles at the moment. That 2.02.1 will be hard to catch.

For a brief time i was ahead of both you and Bedlam, that’ll do for me !
I might be able to eek a couple more tenths out of the high downforce SePiS ccgt i’m using, but little more i doubt. 2.04.0xx
Will give the Nalak tune another go,I couldn’t get on with it earlier.

2.02.55 ,seems i could go a little faster
Gilles 2nd ,and myself 5th fastest auto ccgt, not bad ,and c .1s will see me 3rd (i’m not counting the auto ccgt @1.52 with all aids on,as im guessing thats bull stuff  )

If you try Nalak’s tune, I also recommend trying Rocklxd’s tune. IIRC, Rock’s is on rally suspension which might help a bit with stability on the chicane on the downhill near the start. Nalak’s also has some brake tuning that might throw you for a loop and as I recall Rock’s is a bit closer to stock.

I’ve shared the tune I used here but there’s no reason to think it’s up to the quality level of Nalak’s or Rock’s, since I don’t really tune for S2 road at all.

Thanks, i will give yours and Rocks’ tunes a go later.
Braking was the difficulty i had with Nalaks tune, which is why i couldn’t get on with it earlier. Now i know the track better i can use it, as i’m only touching the brakes 4 times for the whole run now.I did the 2.02.5 run with it.
SePiS tune is not going to be the fastest, but for me it was a good one to learn track and car with ,as its a lot more forgiving.
All this talk of tunes is moot tho, i painted it red.Thats the real reason i’m going faster

I had a few huge slices of luck on that 2.02.1, must have been at least 5 times I was right on the edge of losing control of the run and somehow the CCGT held on.

Going to try and move into the 2:01’s before I give the Mosler a go, I’m sure it’s there as I can get in front of my ghost often at the start.

I did 1 of the Tours for these last night too in the MC12, I won on Estadio + Copper Canyon but even with an ok at best driver in it I simply couldn’t hold off a CCGT user on Playa Azul.

I’m pretty sure it isn’t getting any better than that for my ability, 2:01.538.

Watching the previous fastest Auto time a couple of times was very helpful for showing me the best line to take at the start.

Managed to sneak into the 2.00s with what I think is the 2nd fastest non CCGT/Mosler time. EGAO no HANA tune for the Diablo GTR.

It’s clear I haven’t done enough S2 since I’ve had this game. I’ve probably spent most time in A class and this feels a bit F Zero at the moment.

2.11.615 in the ccgt. No idea how you guys get the times you do. I’ll have a go in the mosler next

Improved to a 2.09.763 in the ccgt. I can’t control the mosler at all. Too much car for me. I’ve got a bit more there as well

Since I hate S2 and can’t see fast enough to react while going 200+ mph, I’ll just take my happy little cruise in an F40 at 2:42:296 and just be happy to be alive at the end ha.

Down to 2:08.5 and I’m sort of happy with it. Just about every time I get to the end I’m improving my time but that is not happening very often. I think I’ve crashed at every corner between the second and the second last. Plus many places in between.

Annoyingly,i dont think i’ve peaked yet,but just don’t seem to be able to do anything about it.
I can match or better your ghost right up to the hairpin, but then consistently lose .3s+ from hairpin to last bridge. I’ve copied your line as best i can through hairpin but you always just out accelerate me on the following stretch. I got better acc than usual from that corner in my PB lap,but still not enough to hold you off .

I tried both yours and Rocks tunes out and Rocklxd tune is very similar to the Sepis one i was using, but faster. I’ll be keeping it as a race tune,as its relatively easy to handle.
I think i made a mistake in not going with your tune tbh, as after a few tries i knew it was very quick but that I would also need to ‘re-learn’ the track to get the most out of it as i was making too many mistakes in new places, but i was lazy and stuck with Nalaks’ tune .
Your tune also seemed to befuddle the games line generator as it threw up some unnecessarily long braking zones (where you brake between bridge 1 and 2 and where you dont brake into those corners before the hairpin)

That’s probably just me being lucky lol, there’s been several times since I started doing this Rivals challenge where I’ve done a section really well then when I go after my own ghost I can’t work out what I actually did.

Still great times though regardless, on Friday + Saturday I didn’t think any of us auto users would be catching that previous fastest time and now 2 of us have topped it.

The Mosler is ridiculously easy to drive for a RWD S2 car. I did 1.58.8 with minimal effort and a couple of errors. I suspect I could do low 1.58s with enough runs. Will give it a bit more time later. The 1.56 WR is way beyond me though.
