Rivals Challenge - FH5 Edition

It is a category within the game, like Modern Supercars etc.

The wiki is sometimes wrong but at a glance this looks correct

Oh boy, the TRD “The Performance Truck” is on there…This might be another exclusion, as it has massive aero as well.

DD Tacoma TRD - 3:31.594 - 176 598 556

Yup….pretty good as well. I have a CC build for that. Almost forgot about that thing. Haven’t used it in awhile.

First attempt at the drift car challenge and I posted a 3:49.463…only 21.655 seconds behind Jezza! If I clean up just a few corners I should be right on his bumper! :joy:

This week may be a tough one for me :slightly_smiling_face:

Gave this a whirl…and let’s just say I have room for improvement :slightly_smiling_face: My time as of now is 2:37.724, so I guess it’s back to the drawing board!

Excellent times @geistwriter and @ziperrPL! :+1:

you can absolutely use MC, it was cool to see you try it in auto though. there aren’t too many builds to get to 500, I was curious what you would come up with. my current build is about 5kg lighter with the same power. I can definitely catch you and the current WR in auto, but I have a feeling you’ll run away with it in MC.

my new jeep build is actually 5kg lighter, has a race charger, sport intake, 20" front and 24" rear heavies, and 315mm rear tires. I’ve tried a few of the wheel/tire size and engine options with the available PI, wasn’t sure which was best. we’ll find out this week I think :sunglasses:

So, my builds are mostly dirt/CC hybrids. In some cases the 4 speed drift transmission was faster for me.

In a lot of cases you’ll be forced to add brakes and/or front tire widths due to limited power upgrades (to get to the top of S1 class).

I haven’t found many effective builds with any sort of race tire. Recommend race suspension over rally. Rally tires fit in some cases but only off-road will fit in other builds.

#411 Corolla: share code: 813 290 910 (don’t bother engine swapping if doing your own build. Won’t reach the top of it’s class unless race tires are used).

#151 2020 Supra: share code: 131 705 713 (this one I would swap engines. Way more speed to work with)

Deberti Chevy Silverado: share code: 109 474 411 (again, you’ll get a good laugh when trying to raise the ride height of this thing. The higher it goes, the more it curls its toes in. Only off-road tires will fit this. Unless you want to waste PI on slicks.)
3:36.216 in this thing. Super fun CC build.

I’ll post more later. I have a ton of builds in this category….because well…they’re fun cars.

Did we do A800 SUV Heroes on tarmac yet?
Aside from the Velar it’s a very balanced category and given the modern gearboxes there is no major disadvantage for auto users.

@ziperrPL - Congratulations - crazy ride!

Congratulations to Anonymous and Gilles for their A / T times - I envy your skill!

@geistwriter - limited to Jeep Gladiator?

Since I already had it at 896 (I think it was for a daily ages ago) I’ve gone with the Hoonitruck to start off with, ‘tuned’ it myself to 900 and currently at 3:24.054 with it.

Edit: Got it to 23.153 on the next run.

yup, I wanna take over that leaderboard with gladiators. the VLOZ boys are gonna be maaaaad.

Pfff did a first ‘make sure to stay clean at any cost run’ 04:17.958 using the #117 599 GTB on a PI of 869, basically only swapped some parts, tyres, no tuning and no ABS.

I had forgotten about the dirt parts on this one. The first car I immediately thought of trying after the recon was the#411 Toyota Corolla 03:51.698.
Not even close to optimal tuning for sure. It was on rally tyres and springs, some slightly changed gearing, enough to win on that one. Swapping the engine does provide more options but this run was stock engine.

@ziperrPL picked up 0.7 seconds with a similar power build, #8 now. also realized I’m using tunable suspension, you must be using stock?

@OdEssA_VL off to a strong start

Why would it be important to have a car reach the top of it’s class PI wise if just below it’s better?
You mention this e.g. for the Toyota Corolla. Now let’s say it’s stuck at ~890 without the race tyres you mention, would that be an issue?
Don’t get me wrong I don’t know (yet) whether or not an engine swap is useful I just mean this as a general sincere question. Not just to you but all of you who are way better tuners than I am.

Rally susp, but tuning allmost untouched.
On stock susp it was much much more.
Can share if you want. Don’t know if I will be able to do it in next 24h though.

Well it was nice to have a car I’d done myself in the top 100 of a LB but that’s over now.

Kapien has a tune for the #25 Mustang and I’m at 3:21.368 in it already after just 2 runs.

Not a pleasant drive on the tarmac sections to say the least though.

Yeah, totally get where you’re coming from. I found that even @ 890 PI with the swap, that Corolla wasn’t great. It’s just from experimentation.

There are plenty of examples where power builds don’t need to be at the top of the class, and are better….but these things can use all the handling they can get. Might as well max them out where possible.

Yeah, I would love that. Haven’t played around much with these on road yet, but did in horizon 4.
