Rewind question...

I normally play with the rewind off but the new AI are crazy idiots and definitely have no idea I’m on the track. I’ve had to turn it on, so they don’t ruin my races. Question I have… when I hit the rewind button it visually rewinds on screen including playing the audio backwards and then stops to ask me if I want to go further. Earlier today when I did it the screen actually went black with a little spinning wheel and it immediately snapped me back instead of showing the video and playing the audio. It was much quicker also. This is preferable as the reverse audio and video has always been annoying. Does anyone know if there’s an option to set quick rewind or is it just something that the game was doing as a glitch with my system this morning? I noticed this afternoon (after a reboot) it’s back to doing the full Visual and Audio Rewind.

That tends to happen after a certain amount of time has passed in a race; I’m racing “Long” races, and the rewind animations tend to stop working after about two-thirds distance on average, presumably when some sort of buffer has been exceeded. It’s always been a “feature” of Forza, particularly on endurance races. It’s not something you can choose to make happen.

Thanks. You’re exactly right. I was doing the endurance race with the Corvette C7. Normally I’m doing shorter races so that’s why the difference. It would be great if there was an option in the menu to set rewind to Quick rewind. Don’t really need them to store that buffer and waste CPU Cycles. I’d rather just have it be quick and get it over with. I can see why some people would like to see it, ad then you can tell how far you’ve backed up and where you’re at. But if you know it’s just a quick bang in the corner don’t really need it.

Yes it is normal, game series has been doing that ever since the rewind feature has been in the game.

turn the limit aggression setting to OFF. there is currently a bug where the OFF & ON settings are switched. the AI are more aware with the setting set to OFF.
