No it didn’t. Happened to me the other day. Had to restart a race. And it’s not just Rivals races it happens in.
Yup has happened to me a few times. Also a different issue where rewinding works but for some reason gets stuck and then won’t let you go back past some arbitrary recent point in time.
Since they’ve dropped the solo seasonal events from unbeatable to expert, to highly skilled, I don’t really need rewind anymore.
Yip, gotta mash the Y button repeatedly sometimes for 5 to 10 seconds before rewind kicks in. Only happens intermittently.
I seldom use it, but I’ve noticed it usually happens in one of three races during the weekly championships. May work in 1st race, but not 2nd, then works again in the 3rd. It’s not consistent.

I have this happen from time to time. Usually, if you exit the race and start it over again the problem will go away. Just doing a restart event from within the race is not sufficient.
