Removed Locked Car Setup: Car's modifications are gone/not owned

I’ve never experienced this issue until the latest update. I’ll buy a car from the auction house with modifications already purchased/installed (added value if a car comes with some upgrades already on it) and go to upgrade it. I opt to remove the setup, and all of the existing modifications/upgrades aren’t owned anymore. FH3 and previous games never had issues retaining the upgrades.

What gives?

Yep, you lose them. I can’t tell you why but you are not alone.

Yep parts go by by if the car has been tuned by any one even if ony tyre presseure is changed you will have car with no parts just dead stock yet if you buy a hodmigsed car that has not been tuned you get to keep the parts.

yep if you buy a pre-tuned car, any upgrade parts are removed with the tune. If you buy a homologated car without a tune, the upgrades remain.

I’m guessing its an intentional feature.
It’s pretty easy to reverse engineer the build if you get to keep all the parts.
You’d still have to tune it, but the build sometimes is the key…

Meh.

If you really wanted to get the build you still could.

Just get the tune, load onto car, hop into whichever mode. Pull up telemetry.
From here grab HP/Torque numbers.

Once you have those 2 things, you just build the car until you get the numbers. Once you have the numbers there is only so many ways to round out the build.

Its why it was, many many games ago, there was much discussion about removing telemetry from replays. Those concerned of theft/competitive nature wanted it gone. Those that used it to learn, wanted it to stay.

No matter what you do, you cant please everyone and at the end of the day it’s a game and there are no secrets.
