I’m totally new to Forza games and just started with Horizon 4. Hoping that experienced players can clear few of my doubts especially at auction house…
Is it possible to change the car class without buying any upgrades by tuning only?
I bought an “1956 Ford F-100” which class was showing as “C600”. I noticed default class for this vehicle supposed to be “D221” so I assumed it had some upgrades. But when I view the car history in my garage it was showing parts values were 0CR.
When I tried to change the tuning It asked me previous owner locked it and if I want to remove? I proceeded to remove it then my class is reverted to “D221”. Now no matter what I do in the tuning section class remains same. So I think it must be doable by upgrading parts only.
Does this means when we buy car via auction house we will lose the previous owner’s bought parts if we opt out to remove the setup?
I know this is not the case when we download a setup for our own car and later opted to remove. All the upgraded parts showing as owned and able to use them without any additional cost.
If you buy in auction house car history show parts value allways as 0, it’s only count those parts that you have buy yourself as part value.
And when you buy car in auction you still own those same parts that previous owners have install, in your ford case, are you check drivetrain and engine swaps are there something that is allready owned?
thanks for the reply. You’re correct in both. I have verified only the cars I bought upgrade showing part values.
Regarding to the Ford, yup there were few parts available and when I applied them back (with no additional cost) managed get back the PI to “C600” again.
Little off topic, does the FM7 also have the same behavior?
I haven’t checked this out, but I have a recollection that if you remove the tune from an AH bought car in FM7, you lose the parts, I think this was done to stop people from reverse engineering the builds by seeing what parts they own after removing the tune. You could easily enough try it out by buying a cheap upgraded car, removing the tune and seeing if any parts show as owned.
I havent play FM7 over a year but i still remember there was some bug back then that if you download tune that have different kinda aspiration that stock engine you couldnt apply that aspiration at all, so if car was natural aspiration as stock and download tune where was installed turbo it was impossible to instal turbo on own tune.
