Just thought of an interesting idea for online multiplayer in FM5 and thought I would share it to get others’ opinions.
I was thinking there could be relay races with 3 teams of 3 or something of the sort. It could be on full tracks or the drag strip for variety. One racer from each team begins the race, speeding towards the “1/3 of the track” checkpoint. Crossing this line would then send their vehicle into the ghost mode, preventing shenanigans upon their arrival at the next 3 racers, who would now get control of their cars to race to the 3rd teammate at the 2/3 point. Obviously, the team whose 3rd racer crosses the finish line first would take the gold.
Thoughts? Would you play it?

This game is something we play every now and then… it’s quite fun but I couldn’t see it becoming mainstream because of the down time between laps
More time to drink, use the toilet, fold laundry, heat up a quick meal and most importantly get in the head of the competition.
Overall sounds fun to me.
I’d enjoy seeing a version of this in an endurance race, with required pit stops to change drivers.
I saw a bit of this in Long Beach: one race had 2 racers who were newer with 2 helpers who were very good. I’d be lapping 'em while they struggled to stay off the walls, then they’d get super good and overtake me, then they’d drop back again. I don’t think they pitted to hand off though: I saw one handoff in front of me on the back straight - was going great, slowed a little, then sped way up, veered to right, and crashed. Too bad those guys were on mute - must have been having a great time.
