Before each event in single player, the game gives you a selection of cars, some of which are “recommended” while others aren’t. My question is, what criteria does the game use to decide which cars are “recommended” and which aren’t? I ask this because I’ve often tried the cars that weren’t “recommended” and found that I liked them better than the “recommended” ones.
Afaik the list is for your current series and the races you have available. So you get a list of cars in a class that are needed for races you have yet to do.
Yes, but not all cars on the list are recommended. Should I just use the recommended ones, or does it matter?
Even though they are homologated, maybe the overall stats of a recommended car might be better for a certain track: example that car might have the best braking and handling that is geared more that type of track versus acceleration and top speed, so it is recommended. just a theory.
The recommended cars are, as you’ve noticed, not always the best choice available. I think the game generally looks at the types of vehicles you’ve driven the most (more speed, more handling, balanced, etc…) and suggests them to you based on very loose criteria.
For example, whenever i go to buy a car without being in a singleplayer series (because singleplayer is boring and i hate that cars are locked behind it) it will almost always recommend trash vehicles for me to buy. Like SUVs and a BMW Isetta.
But that’s completely my own fault, as I’m always taking trash vehicles and making them competitive for online racing.
Btw, nothing is funnier than beating a full lobby in A class with a Hello Kitty TransitVan
It doesn’t matter. I’ve often found the recommended cars aren’t as good as some of the cars I own and/or want to use.
I haven’t seen that for a while because I usually choose my car and then set the race up and it works it out based on the car I have loaded. If you change something in the more advanced set up that knocks your car out then it will show recommendations back in the garage but I generally undo the change and use the car I wanted. I can’t say I have won or lost a race taking their word for it.
The “Recommended” car criteria was always something I was curious about as well. I usually end up either choosing the car I want or choosing the car with the best overall stats, regardless of whether or not it is recommended.
Short story shorter, I wouldn’t worry about what’s “Recommended” and what isn’t. They should all be more-or-less balanced anyway.
