Rear View Mirror 4-14-14

I wonder why Corvette Racing did not make a decent livery for the brand new C7R, that clean paint is not good, I would say that a silver tribal with black rear could be more interesting like on old C6R/ZR1.

Looking for that Superleggera I just want to ask for in the future we can paint the original car wheels, not aftermarket only. I loved those Corvette engines shots, but my favorite was that picture with Superlegerra in the front with a Scuderia on background, both IMO are the most beautiful cars made by Lamborghini and Ferrari (except by the “epics” like F40-50-Enzo and Diablo-Diablo 6.0-LP670 SV), I think everyone who likes these brands, likes a lot of those two cars also. BTW, only 52 pictures? C’mon Johni, bring us some 500 more haha

Must be sooo boring get to work everyday in a studio with a McLaren P1 in the entrance haha, can’t wait to drive GT2 cars on Long Beach as soon as I buy an XBO

Great article, John! The Long Beach races looked worth watching, but didn’t, for I was at Darlington on Saturday and it was a blast to be there! Sort of glad that Harvick won, but I was really rooting for Dale Jr. to win, especially towards the end when he was leading, which at that point I felt I was going to have a heart attack out of joy if he were to win at a track that’s located 10 min from where I live, but that changed when Bowyer got into Kurt on the back stretch, disappointing Jr. nation; But overall, it was still a good race, not as much action on the track this year as the previous years though, but in the 11 years I’ve been attending Darlington, you never know what could happen.

As for my favorite photo, it would have to be the shot of the Lingenfelter Vette’s engine, love the way the supercharger looks plus I’m a sucker for LS engines!

My favorite car at RTC was the Bentley Continental Gt. This car had an incredible set of wheels on it. I love polished alloy wheels finished with a chrome lip, beautiful. Also, the Bentely sports the 6.0 twin turbo W12 which is a serious engine. Very conservative from the outside, but to those knowledgeable of the car, its more like a Siberian tiger waiting to roar.

Hey John,
Great RVM! I checked out the LB races on tv this weekend and it is a lot of fun to watch after being able to drive the track in FM5. Also checked out the Studio Tour with Daren Gangi and I must say I am very jealous of your work environment! Are you hiring any software testing directors or managers? I would join in a NY minute! Looks like a lot of fun compared to the cube farm I work in, but luckily I get to work from home quite a bit.

My favorite shot is #29 photo of the Mazda with the LS V8 motor swap. Very nice photo angle to show not only the motor swap, but also the body mods. I really like when someone swaps in a V8 and makes it look like it should have always been there.

Thanks for the RVM,
RescueDog

I have to say that out of all the pictures, my favorite would be of the mercedes, it reminds me of the CLK touring car…

Hi John,

great Articles and Videos of the Race of Long Beach, especially after riding 2h in the Long Beach Hopper Event.

Hi John,

Nice article, and loved the pictures. My favorite picture would have to be the Triumph TR3 as I really like old British cars from that time period.

Another action packed RVM, Thanks John.
Glad to hear you’re settling in to the new home.

The best photo for me has to be the iconic E Type Jag.

Great RVM this week, John. A lot of racing at Long Beach and then down in S.C. I’m not sure if it was televised or not, but I’m sure it was, but I didn’t get to catch the Celeb race which is always a fun one to see. I saw a little of the TUDOR race and couldn’t believe how well the GT cars were able to at least able to stay with the P cars for the most part. It was a pretty good race from what I watched of it. I felt horrible for Newgarden because I’m a big Andretti racing fan mostly with Marco, but I follow them all. It was terrible to see Hunter-Reay make a mistake like that. Great weekend of racing at Long Beach though.

As for the exotics, I really can’t decide between the Triumph and the Jag. Both are such timeless classics and gorgeous cars, I wouldn’t mind sitting in either of them.

Hey John, great coverage from long beach, I’m not much of an indy street racing fan, but the long beach course is a spectacular setting for a street race, and I did watch it, and it was enjoyable…mostly because nascar went on sat. night lol. great collection of exotic car photo’s, and after much consideration I have chosen the photo of that big old early 60’s caddy, specifically the photo of the engine bay…that monster LS motor looks so tiny in the massive engine bay that used too hold an enormous 560 plus cubic inch caddy motor. If any one wants they can check my flicker page under my gt hipwader62x and I have a lot of car photo’s from some old show and shines here in Calgary…happy Easter too ALL !!!

Glad to see you are enjoying Jinkyu’s shots of the cars.

I love all those shots, but I would have to say the first one of the Enzo is my favorite. Which is why I made sure to lead the album with that shot.

John

Its awesome reading about these young guys giving the veterans such hair raising competition around these challenging courses presented today. I got smoked by a young girl at the local go kart track here in Miami Florida man was she fast I don’t she hardly used her brakes. Exciting watching someone barely into their teens race so well Its magical.
