I really enjoy playground games, they are tones of fun to do with friends and I like to think I have gotten pretty good at them. But the other day something happened to me while I was trying to grind to league 4 (I was league 5 3890). i joined a match, and after the first round ended, 3 players from my team decided to leave. I wasn’t happy with this as it’s pretty much an automatic loss, but then two more players left, leaving me all alone after the first round. I decided to also leave the match, as it didn’t make sense for me to stay in all alone. But guess what?! I lost 120 league points. Cool thanks for that, oh well at least i still had league 5 (now at 3770). So i join a new match and this one was great. Really close games, and we managed to pull out a win in the final round to win the series 3 - 2. How many league points did I earn? 1! I got ONE league point! Are you serious!? But because I love Playground Games so much, I decided to play 2 more matches. These last 2 matched were against the same 6 players each time (2 of which were grandmasters). I was the highest ranked on my team each time. I lost both matches. and by the end of it I had lost 220 league points. This of course brought me to low league 6. Lets just say I didn’t play for the rest of the day. The next day I decided to hop back on and get those points back. On my very first game, my entire team left in the first 10 seconds! WHY?! Why me? I didn’t want to leave the match as I knew what would happen if i did. So I stayed in, and lost. I lost a 6v1 what a surprise. But of course, Forza being the kindest game that it is, decided to take away another 30 points from me!! FOR LOSING A 6 v 1!! YOU"VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!
Can anyone please explain to me why this is how playground games works? Because to me it makes absolutely no sense. How am I ever going to progress if it is literally impossible!?
Welcome to Forza Horizon 4 ranked! All game modes work like this and it actually doesn’t matter at all how well you do in races/games. It’s all about what ranks you have on your team and what ranks does the other team have.
This sounds to me like those people are trying to get their accounts to league 20 so they can start boosting their friends to Grandmaster. If you want to help this game get better, please consider opening a ticket, include their names and screenshots/videos if you have any. They should get permanently banned for that because it’s ruining the game for everyone else on their team (and possibly the other team if they’ll get 0 points).
You’re not going to progress without teaming up with other players. Even then it might not be possible to climb to league 1/Grandmaster without teaming up with low ranked players (this is why you may run into teams with a high league/Grandmaster or two drivers and a few league 20 drivers). You are just not going to get any points once you climb higher, unless your team average score is really low which can only be achieved with low league drivers on your team.
Ahh ok that makes sense, I mean it isn’t ideal, but I understand now, guess ill just have to try and carry some of my noob friends to actually progress…

About the people who leave on the first round though, how, and where exactly should I post screenshots of their usernames to get them reviewed?
You don’t level up by teaming up with actual noobs. You need to team up with top players who are using rank 20 accounts, which is againts the rules so it is something you should not do.
I doubt it will help though. Considering how many that are cheating in this way on a regular basis, Playground Games are clearly not banning cheaters in ranked.
No no that’s not what I meant, I mean some of my friends are decent drivers who just haven’t played ranked before, they actually are playground games noobs, but I guess it’s not really worth it, so I might as well just forget about getting a good rank because it seems pretty much impossible
