Question about the glowing car designs on the Forza Horizon storefront

Hello, I am writing this to see if any one can help me, recently I have found several car design’s on the Forza Horizon Design storefront of cars that are Seriously glowing like a glow stick, and I am wondering if by buying one of these paint jobs and loading it to one of my cars, if I would get banned from the store front, if a moderator or any one could help answer my question, that would be great, thank you and have a nice day.

When in doubt, don’t touch.

This - and report the paints as well.

I don’t see anything wrong with a glowing paint job yet I got banned from using anything can u please explain that to me?

And what is your issue? And how does it relate to “glow” paints?

Yes - the “glow” paints are a mod and as such are banned on XBox Live and can not only get you banned from Forza, but Xbox Live as well.

Bans are not discussed on the forums - and there are many other posts that are locked for exactly this, like this ONE.

Yes, that much is obvious; but I don’t think you’re seeing it from the viewpoint of a naive consumer. As a consumer of the product, and one who doesn’t touch the livery and paint shop, you’re telling me that it is justified to ban a user for using said glowing skins even without prior knowledge that these items did not originally ship with the game?

Are these glowing skins obviously modded into the game? Or are they believable? Because if they appear as though they could have been included in the game itself, I wouldn’t think it fair to give an infraction to a user who was just looking for a new skin, particularly when the game tries to constantly get you to choose from said skins.

There is no way to do these within the game parameters - simply put, if you can’t create a glow paint then it is a mod and needs to be avoided at all costs.
It is obvious they don’t belong as well - and at the end of the day it is T10s decision to ban (or not) and like anything else - if in doubt avoid them.

There moded paints. Theres a lot on forza 4 at the moment. Although in saying that the forza 4 serviers are a massive nightmare at the moment and have for the last few weeks. Trying to stay in a live match is near on impossible. The system throws you out of game and party chat. Reckon xbox one have stolen the servers. My xbox one works perfectly.

Out of curiosity, can an unsuspecting player become banned for using what they believe to be a legitimate livery? I can imagine the number of people, myself included, who seldom touch the paint shop. So those who don’t understand that those paint jobs are not legitimate will become banned, simply for using them?

I don’t even choose liveries, I prefer the cars in their standard paint schemes; but I’m just curious as a random player might see that skin, think it’s the coolest thing ever, and then wake up one morning to a ban.

68/70 achievements… Hope they finally fix this. Horizon 3 demo is fantastic but if developers wont care about their games, why should I?

Well damn, I didn’t even know that modded designs were a problem I removed the one I bought from the market just to be safe, but can I use one on horizon 1 single player without being banned? As in, do we have to be reported or is turn 10 actively seeking out horizon 1 player to ban (lol)

Normally I don’t go anywhere near the design storefront but, out of curiosity, I decided to visit it a couple of times to see what you were talking about (didn’t download anything though).

Now that I’ve seen the modded designs, here’s what I do about them.

  1. I hit the “Report offensive content” menu item on each design I encounter (that menu item could’ve probably used a rename but whatever - it’ll still bring the modded designs to the attention of design storefront moderators).
  2. For each offending gamer, I file a complaint for system tampering through the 360 gamer card UI (some of them have more than one modded design - in that case I only submit one complaint).

Whether you follow this process or not is up to you. Above all else though, DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANY MODDED DESIGNS!

If there is any way that design can be seen then you can be caught - single player MAY be safe - unless you take pics, save replays. Either way Illegal/distateful designs should not be used.
