Can’t we all agree not to pre-order this time? Don’t get me wrong; apart from Resident Evil 2, Forza Horizon 4 is my most anticipated title by far. But remember it’s been two games so far, and both have been far from a smooth experience for PC players on early release. It took almost a year for Forza Horizon 3 to be completely fixed, and to this day, Forza Motorsports 7 is still suffering from performance issues. Now the stuttering is back and I am having G-sync issues (stupid me for not believing what other were saying and updating Win10), making the game unplayable.
Developers must put more effort on releasing a fully-functional title, specially for those of us who shell out $100 for the Ultimate Edition. At least tell us if something has been learned from the previous entries and this game will run without issues on day one.
It’s kind of not fair when they take your money and put out a broken product, just to take months to patch it. The whole idea of an early-access Ultimate Edition is for those who are willing to pay extra to enjoy your creation, can do so before others without issue. You’re basically just playing $100 to play a broken game with exclusive content will be added later on anyway.
I love Forza. I still think it’s the best option out there for car enthusiasts, and Horizon 4 I’m sure it will be the next big thing. I just hate that the experience is hindered by performance issues.
I am so scared… I want to be excited about this game and I imagine putting hundreds of hours on it. But I feel deterred. I was about to pre-order just now, but I backed away thinking of all the stress I’ve gone through with Horizon 3 during its first couple of months and Motorsports 7, which to this day still fails to give me a pleasant experience.
Actually it was stated a multitude of times months before the fm7 release that the physical editions would not get the hoonigan pack…it was stated as digital only and for all editions not just ultimate
It was a digital preorder incentive
And also was stated that there was no plans for it to be made available for physical editions either
The people complaining in this thread knew it too because they were already complaining about it months before the fm7 release
So I can see why he would be annoyed if he only chose the digital version to get that pack…digital is also more expensive than buying physical…or at least in my country it is…save about $30 by buying physical
Especially when it was also stated there was no plans on it being released separately
Will there be a phisical ultimate edition with a steel book and things? I usually by the digital ultimate edition but with this game taking place in Britain it will be special to me and I would like something more physical
Just one quick question:
I tried to pre-order Forza Horizon 4
Ultimate Edition on xbox one s but the price is 114$.
On the Microsoft Store the price is 100$.
Why is that?
I think the cars we will get will be usable during the season they come out, which is very good. That way you would not get an old muscle car in winter or all those SUVs in summer
First of all, I am very happy that FH4 is set in the U.K. and I’m going to be sat here wishing a few months of my life away waiting for it to hit the shelves. For me it can’t come sooner as it’s going to be the best game ever.
The one thing that’s bothering me though is that I prefer to purchase the physical copy of the ultimate game, and I really don’t want to be stitched up by the digital copy getting a car pack that I won’t get by having the actual disc in my hands. This happened with FM7 with the Hoonigan pack and really hope this won’t happen again.
To me … if I buy the game then I buy the game and both should be the same and both should have the same content and one should not be different to the other.
Does anyone have any input to this, and have an answer to any differences that may occur between digital verses physical copies.
Again … well done T10 and Playground Games (and we all know Playground made the FH series) and let’s not forget Microsoft for bringing us these great games consoles and computer parts … This looks like it’s going to be the most awesomest game ever to play on the most awesomest console ever, so thanks for that
its from playground, not t10^^ on the e3 microsoft show they said that both versions are the same. every one who preordered the game will become the carpack…
So then every one who pre ordered should receive the exact same thing whether they ordered Digital or Physical versions of the game So every one who ordered the game should all receive A steel Case all Digital content mentioned and any other pre order merchandise. Would that be correct assessment as per your post.
There’s a difference. Those who went digital could still get the Diecast car and steelbook case, I believe it was Clutch who’d walked into his local store and asked if they had any of the Diecast cars left, and managed to get one. You’d also be able to buy a used copy of the steelbook case. Neither of those locked you out of in-game content though.
However, unless you got extremely lucky and were gifted a code, there was no way for those who went physical to get the car pack until very recently.
In fact, those with a physical copy are still behind in terms of “items”. They don’t get the ability to play it on PC, they can’t share the game without taking the copy and handing it to someone else (being unable to play it themselves in the process), they’d also have to pay for the Hoonigan Pack as an extra in FH3, while digital owners got it for free. There’s also no way to “lose” or damage your digital copy.
It´s kind of obvious that the digital pre-order gets a little bit more ingame content (at least temporarly) since it is a great advertisement for XBox Play Anywhere. However I see it exactly like Alan J T: The physical version gets certain bonuses that are worth way more than the digital bonuses, so why does everyone cry about the digital version getting small bonuses as well?
The way I see it, I couldn’t particularly care about the play anywhere side of it, nor the game sharing, however there’s no denying that it’s an advantage of the digital copy. Neither side should be locked out of getting in-game content, especially cars, based on which version they bought.
Physical has the steelbook and diecast, digital has the play anywhere (essentially getting two copies of the game) and game sharing ability, those should be where the differences should end.
If physical pre-orders got exclusive cars ingame that digital versions couldn’t get, I’m sure there’d be a similar “outcry” about it, just from the other side.
The point is that the pre-order car pack has never been exclusive to digital pre orders. It was more like early access and always purchasable later. So technically the digital editions do not get an exclusive car pack.
The 10th Anniversary Car Pack in Forza 6 and Horizon 2 (can’t recall for sure if that was the name of it in FH2) was never made available for physical owners, so there was a previous event that more than likely led to the belief that it would be the same again.
Stang is right. I bought the physical version of FM6 and got the pack there as well. And it was for free for a limited time for FH2 as well. Like I said: All recent pre-order car packs were only like an early access to the pack, never completely exclusive
