talking to them in store the other day got worried when saw this would cost me $250 to download otherwise (prepaid telstra wireless 4GX with bonus all i can get where i am)
i preordered disc version early glad i did no more discs available already sold out all pre ordered will now be digital at eb anyway.
So the physical ultimate edition is sold out? I just checked the US Gamestop website and can’t find it listed at all, I can find the digital version but not the physical. I am glad I preordered early, now I am worried I need to pick the game up at midnight to actually get my disc and not a download code.

Spoke to the guys at the EB Games store and they were pretty adamant that the download code is only for Xbox, not play anywhere.
I’d really like to preorder with them to get the bonus car, but might be forced to just order from the Microsoft store if they’re saying straight out that its not for Win10.
Yep I agree and some of them replying have no idea of some of the things Microsoft do in Australia As some people don’t seem to realise is that Codes sold in Australia can be regional and also Device specific Just like there are numerous games that are G rated that you can not get in Australian Through Microsoft at all but after doing some Searching and double checking it is Play any where as it comes with all Download content plus the Forza 7 drift Pack so your set if you want to order from them.

It is a Play Anywhere title for a digital download, as Wildcat said, all future MS games will be that way, EB Games is misinformed.

Humm interesting and a expensive test, Play it safe and order from Microsoft store at least that way you know it will play on both PC and Xbox , While I am pretty sure that the fact it is a digital code so will be play any where it may be some sort of special code that will only work on a Xbox.
And I would rather fork over the $140 to Microsoft direct and be cretin than give it to EB on a it should be play anywhere only to find it is not.
All current and future MS first party digital games are definitely Play Anywhere titles. Including FH4. I’ve not downloaded any Play Anywhere games before but I believe the PC versions are tied to the Xbox versions when using the same account. Once you download the Xbox game under your profile, you should have access to the PC version on the Microsoft Store under the same user profile.

if it’s digital it’s play anywhere , no ifs or buts, it has been stated so many times , was the same in Fh3 and fm7
ONLY the disc is xbone only
not everyone that works at EB games is that bright, some of them will tell you that Forza is playable on playstation as well

Did anyone happen to see that Best Buy has Destiny 2 listed in the pre order bonus section? Might be tempting for those interested.

If you look at the link, they have Destiny 2 as a pre-order bonus, seems like its a mistake, but time will tell.

Can someone confirm… if i buy the Ultimate edition… do I get it for PC and Xbox? If so any catches like I must buy from MS store or Xbox store?
Only if you buy it digital…it work on both… depending on your pc specs too
Disc version will not work on pc
PC play is only available if you buy a digital edition; the disc version of the Ultimate Edition will only play on consoles. If you buy a digital code from a retailer, it’s a digital edition and will work for both console and PC as if you had bought it directly from the MS/Xbox Store.
