Extremely dissapointed there is no quali, practice in private. This is kinda game breaking imo. The league guys are feeling it worse for sure.
Besides quali we need more grid option if you want to make 2-3 races per round for example.
More grid options would greatly improve the private lobby experience!
I host a 15 - 24 person private lobby and we usually do a qualifying race where I manually check everyone’s times and then position them for the main endurance race. I cannot do this currently. Meaning I won’t be able to participate in the races. I will have to “grid” everyone IN GAME and then do a pace lap as a pace car so that we start fairly!
Incredible that we have gone backwards in what a “Motorsport” game is supposed to be.
Please bring back manual grid option AND/OR bring the qualifying from open multiplayer to the private multiplayer.
Thanks Forza
Sincerely,
Lifer Forza Fan
This is a major oversight and should be a top priority!
To add insult to injury, tire degradation may as well be non existent in private lobbies. You have to race 30+ laps for noticeable drop off. Give us the option choose rate of tire deg. Don’t understand how it isn’t even close to how it works in public matches. It’s like this company is doing everything it can to make this game not have a steady community. All about buying the pay to win car and playing public matches only.
I dont understand why they cant do these simple things?! Its like they do them purposely. I go from different sims and then switch over to motorsport and almost don’t even want to touch it. Just aimlessly driving around for hours for what? Then try and start a team race with 10+ people and there is no qualifying? Also tires are basically invincible
Every feature/option in Featured Multiplayer should be in Private Multiplayer as an option, including this.
When it was announced that there was going to be a proper qualifying system our racing group got excited. Try and run an online event and nothing is available… Only in Public Hoppers…
Currently we are having to manually run a qualifying race, take photos to set the grid. In the race we then need to do an out lap hoping all are in the party/discord chat to set the grid as the game will not set it properly from the lap times.
- Practice sessions (not meetups as they seem to crash the lobby when you start to actually race).
- Qualifying, with an option to run within practice like the Public Hoppers or run separate.
- Set grids from qually results.
- Also manually set grids (great for reverse top 10, drop outs, manual penalties, etc).
- Tyre wear multiplier option. Maybe an option to force a tyre type.
- Timed races to end not at zero but at the end of that lap.
Right now the community groups wanting to race are taking a break till sorted or looking elsewhere. Our group is still trying but the frustration in setting up and running is killing the joy and the lost time working around the issues sees some drivers bail early and not return for the next event.
The game only allows for a jump in a play option with most of the promised features but almost no e-sport tools for the racing groups, the promised features locked out…
Agreed. The features in Featured Multiplayer are good, so it would be nice to have them in Private Multiplayer too.
In a club that i race in, we’ve been having to do a “fake” qualifying by setting the grid order to use the fastest lap from previous session. But most of the time the game can’t even get that right and we wind up having to do a formation lap to get in proper order, then do a rolling start.
A proper qualifying session would solve all of this.
The fact were months past release and this still isn’t addressed speaks volumes. Literally every other “sim racing” game has these capabilities. This will really destroy the longevity of the game for community’s that want to host mini leagues and keep people coming back.
absolutely need this. My group of mates would be back playing this game in a flash if we had this as we are sick of all the rammers in Featured Multiplayer.
This is a must, otherwise private multiplayer becomes really limited and really impacts negatively the experience to race with friends.
We should have the same options in private multiplayer as in featured multiplayer, sessions, tyre wear, etc.
Absolutely yes. It would also make community events so much more enjoyable!
It’s like they’re edging us with features. THIS is why competition is so important in the market, there is no realistic competition to this game therefore they can withhold and add whatever features they want whenever they want. Not having a QUALIFYING mode in a private lobby on a RACING GAME is actually unacceptable. I have never been so frustrated with a game in my life to go out of my way to comment on its forum but this is just so lazy . I am almost to the point of wanting to buy a PlayStation just so I can play a racing game that actually facilitates league racing and doesn’t make it a chore to do. The lack of features in this game is purposely done and I promise PlayStation and Gran Turismo will be getting my money very soon if these developers do not step it up.
I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure everything you need to do the practice-qualifying-race sequence is already present in the custom race function. What we really need is a preset for each of those the way we have the other general presets.
You can use “timed race” to create a qualifying session that’s scored by laptime, and have the “circuit race” that follows have it’s grid arranged by results. We need that to be more easily identifiable, ideally via preset.
Thats ok, but if the game crashes (Which it does often) or people fall out of lobbys, (which they do often) their place is lost. The manual grid ordering would be perfect, even without a separate option for practice/qualify.
Now that we have a tyre wear multiplier, I think this is something else that needs adding. The Qualifying flow in Featured Multiplayer is excellent, and I would like that when hosting private events with my club.
Bump time for changes to private mp
Also, a debug for settings getting reset to club rules (an update 10 new bug)
