Possible solution about CTD because out of memory

Ok, as I say in the tittle is a possible solution, can works or cannot, but at least in my case is working.

My rig:

4790k 4,5Ghz
32gb ddr3 2400hz
Pagefile 30GB
2x 1080Ti (but only one works in this game since multigpu is not implemented)
3x SSD 250GB
Asrock z87 extreme9 A/C

3 monitor ASUS MG279 in surround portrait displaying 4320x2560

Ok, first i noticed was i was CTD when long races, about 7/8 lap.

With RTSS i saw both VRAMs are above 5-6gb, so no VRAM leak, RAM was about 8GB all time and System graphics memory was about 15gb all time.

System graphics memory is VRAM + 1/2 total RAM, in my case 11GB + 16GB = 27GB total. So no system Graphics memory issues.

So checking my pagefile i set 10GB on each SSD having a total of 30gb virtual memory. Even knowing 30GB is a great amount of VM, i tried something absurd, increase it to 60GB (20gb per each SSD). No more CTD atm.

As i said is absurd having a 60GB pagefile but, taking in count is a 100GB game, could have some sense.

Hope it helps

Increasing the pagefile will only “delay” the crash, since the game has a memory leak.

Check my post here, using MemReduct along with a big pagefile works good.

I’m not crashing at the moment. I’m even replying you with the game paused in background. However i’ll try your app. Thank you!

What’s your hardware by the way? I’m seeing you have 16gb ram, but the rest?

I crash everytime during loading screen in multiplayer mode especially.
never crash in solo mode , I really hope a fix for multiplayer.

Intel i7 7700k , 16GB DDR4 , Geforce 970GTX (4GB VRAM), Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD (with a few other non-ssd big harddrives), Sound Blaster E1 (USB), Logitech G510 Gaming Keyboard.

This is not a fix. It is not our responsibility as consumers to create workarounds for a product which cannot stay within spec. A product with recommended requirements of 8GB should never use more than 8GB of memory – virtual or physical.
