The amount of them already disgusts me. I don’t get on here to race microwaves and vacuum either my brother, just exciting cars I know I cant drive in real life lol
The little oval inside the circle was ehhh How about putting a multilevel road course or drift course in that space say for five levels up and down Racin. in the pyramids big waste of space all they do is get in the way how about putting some ramps to jump over top of them or build something there or something. And finally how about on the next update remove some of the logs have so many logs on the ground and they put you to a dead stop. Who’s idea was that?
If the developers are so keen on adding so many EVs going forward, they really need to turn down the volume of the transmissions by default, because many of the EVs, especially the sportier ones, sound exactly what people who are afraid of the dentist think dental equipment sounds like. In other words, these EVs sound worse than the aforementioned dental equipment.
same situation here with the Porsche 911 '90 for me. I wasn’t able to play due to irl stuff at that time so i missed out on that both from the playlist and auctoin house the few weeks after unfortuneatly. So I’ve been hoping and watching the AH but none are ever put up eventhough i would pay the 20m for it and would be nice if someone would do so or if the the devs would put some of these exclusive cars back in rotation in the Forzathon shoppe from time to time.
Well, forza isn’t the only game to have issues with “special” cars. GT7 has a car (32 Ford coupe) that has shown up exactly 1 time in the “Legendary Dealership”. I bought that game after it was released and see no future where it will show up again.
In all honesty, any series that has rewards actually focused around the theme usually turns out to be at least good, even better if there’s at least 4 new cars. That being said, I think there’s still room for improvement in this regard.
In short, the playlist events should feature cars that aren’t available in the autoshow, they could also be used to bring back some returning cars to the game, so that they don’t take up spots of new cars. Instead of having all cars needed to complete the playlist events as those event rewards, they could be available in the Forzathon shop. Having those common autoshow cars that I already have 3 duplicates of being playlist rewards in a way makes completing the playlist feel a lot less rewarding.
I agree the rewards for playlist events have been/are poor most of the time in FH5 especially compared to FH4, even for someone who is in the very early stages of the game there can be rewards that are useless even to them.
It reeks of PG/MS trying to keep newer players hanging on as long as possible, if backstage passes are to make a return that will be the only way of getting exclusives they missed without paying exorbitant AH prices, something no new player is likely to have the credits for.
But then that entails 4 things…
-
They have to maintain an interest in the game until the feature arrives (we don’t even know if it will/won’t yet + it was 2 years into FH4 when it came to it, a point that is still months away for 5).
-
They have to hope the car they want is in the voting options so that could add many more months to their wait.
-
Said car then actually has to win the vote to be added, again potentially adding more months of waiting.
-
When it eventually gets added they’ll then have to go through the playlist to obtain a backstage pass as a reward.
Only after all those permutations are satisfied will they be able to get the car they were wanting.
Isn’t live service wonderful…
I would say they’re fun to change up what you are doing as far as maybe considering it as a rental car on vacation from time to time – other than finding them interesting solely for that, they’re understeering, bloated-slop dogs propped up with false expectations, and it reflects in-game too.
Or let us swap real engines and transmissions in them – because lets face it, we will never get our hands on an aftermarket (or even a replacement for that matter) battery/motor combo from an auto-maker to throw into a car in our garage. They wont sell it to you knowing you could off yourself by mucking with the high voltage lines incorrectly, and for the price they’d make you buy a whole car lol
Instead we add them and make illogical stretches to make them relevant in vehicle classes outside of their stock class, it’s like appropriating their existence because eight kids who post here’s dads drive them to school in a Tesla.
It’s all about marketing. Ever wonder why all the “press” around EVs is about “See how fast this thing is in a straight line?”, but rarely see “Hey, this X EV just did a xxx.xx at Y track!”. Range prevents EVs from being viable race cars (see Formula E, Extreme E). They are at the point where full battery swaps in the pits will be necessary to run more than 10 laps anywhere.
I personally liked the treasure hunt best as far as the series 20 update goes.
I think the Pathfinder events are a good addition, but like most things Playground does, it’s not without its faults. The first and third paths in Summer had a couple of odd design choices that made the experience more frustrating than fun, and the second path was blatantly too easy. There’s a balance to find here, and Playground haven’t found it yet.
Also, I find it pretty ludicrous that you can set a GPS target via the Accolades for the first path, but not the second and third. Suffice to say, I quickly learned that Playground’s idea of North, South, East, and West is vastly different from mine, but I suppose that’s what happens when parts of your map are crooked like the runway and Guanajuato.
I think the Pathfinders would have been much better suited to series 1-3, as a tool to get players familiar with areas of the map that are off the beaten track.
I do like them + the idea but we’ve been in Mexico for a year and a half now, any players who have been around all that time have already seen everything that’s there.
Definitely something that should be taken forward into FH6 though as an exploration tool for the early hours of wherever it is set.
I love it updated more good jobs forza horizon 5
AMG GT Black Series would have been right at home in the update. You’re right about the odd placement of Audi RS6 here
The Lambo almost feels like the odd one out given the rest in the line were “das autos” lol
I jumped into the game just to try out this pathfinder thing. Somewhat interesting. Not sure if it’s something I like or just something to clutter up the landscape. If each seasonal pathfinder disappears as the next season one comes on then ok. And it would appear as though the balloon path is totally unnecessary. I ran the final pathfinder basically ignoring the balloon path and heading as straight as possible for the end point. My guess is you could scout the path with the drone. Then run a straight shot through to the end. You might try that next season if you’re interested. Doubt I’ll be interested.
I did the paths with the Deberti F-250. I built it up with the “great new” oversized tires they included in one of the previous upgrades. Huh? Oversized? I could hardly notice any difference in size. When it said oversized, you know, I guess I was thinking “OVERSIZED”. Not just a couple of little clicks bigger than normal.
Well, I guess ya gotta applaud them for the effort.
Yeah, first run of the Pathfinder I thought, hmm, tethered balloons, cool, so we have to drive through the ropes to cut them free, sorta like checkpoints but much tighter, that will be fun… until, after a couple snapped ropes I noticed behind me the balloons weren’t drifting away free. And sure enough I started missing them on purpose and it didn’t matter at the end. A bit disappointing. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it’s just the start and finish lines that count like you say. Ah well, it coulda been fun. And to top it off the Chest at the end. Never even saw it because apparently it was right in the middle of the finish line. I got it, but, again, make it any easier ?
@Not_Here_Too , gotta remember, it’s gotta be easy enough for ramming and slamming eight year olds.
You’re correct. Strangely, I think the clock had started when I switched back to my car, which wasn’t particularly close to the start point
