Just a friendly reminder that voting for the AWD drivetrain would make AWD builds competitive for the first time ever since game launch.
This game is 90% RWD right now anyways, so why would you vote for another RWD lobby - it’s just a missed opportunity to do something fresh and new in my humble opinion.

Really want to see a modern hot hatch series back

Agreed. There’s never been a reason to make them outside of being a crutch for keyboard players lol

How would it make AWD builds competitive if there’s no PI rework?

By banning every other drivetrain type, therefore making AWD competitive by default.

AWD isn’t really a viable choice in any open build series due to the additional weight and front tyre wear, so having an AWD only series would open up some ways to race those cars.

Yeah… maybe I’m being a  here and splitting hairs, but labeling AWD as competitive even in such context kinda dismisses the necessity of PI rework of those cars.

It’s just not fair that such iconic cars as Evos, STIs, GT-Rs aren’t even remotely competitive with factory engine/drivetrain setup. Not sure about Murcielago and Aventadors, but I think Gallardo, 911 Turbo and R8s aren’t competitive either - and these are also great cars. It’s around 15 well known cars that can’t be considered for an online race just from the top of my head - not cool, T10. :pensive:

Also, competitive AWD time attack builds would be lots of fun - the car is still heavy and requires even more precise throttle control than RWD. It was one of the most rewarding game experiences in GRID Autosport with Auto Gallery Yokohama R32 GT-R.

Might be fun & a bit more well-balanced if there was a cycled daily or weekly semi-open-class featured multiplayer hopper with restrictions on things like drivetrain, division, region, etc.
…“A-class AWD,” “S-class European,” “P-class GTP/C,” etc.
This would allow more options/flexibility than spec races while also mixing up the meta for open lobbies.

So we’re getting the next boring RWD lobby, well done everyone.

Also, why are people voting for P1 Series? This series is literally dead. There are only 5 cars, 3 of them are competitive and only 2 of them are enjoyable to drive. This is how every lobby looks right now in the game and don’t worry at least 3 more people will leave before the race starts.

Most of this game’s default/stock tunes are awful to drive - awful for me, and awful trying to safely navigate a field of other drivers who are also struggling with such awful setups.

So, I avoid racing in the spec events for cars that don’t come with any adjustable tuning settings - like most of the production cars.

I prefer the spec events for cars that come with adjustable tuning settings - like the race cars (not just P1) …which lets me change some of the car’s unwanted behaviors (understeer, oversteer, etc).

That would shake things up for sure. Do you remember awhile back they did the 12 cylinder open series? It was fun and forced people out of the typical metas to experiment with new builds. I never could figure why they stopped.

I just now created a Suggestions Hub post for it, and edited my reply above with a link to it for those who’d like to vote to have this.

Would be cool to have an EV series for once.

There are plenty of P-Class EV that don’t see much use and they’re very unique to drive. Enormous power and low aero means the braking refence points and driving lines are so different.

If I’m reading this right, the Community Choice Series on April 2 will be the following:

  • Rear-Wheel Drive
  • Mid-Engine
  • European
  • 1990s
  • Medium Race Length

PI/Class is unknown.
