There are about 450 cars in the game from sports cars to supercars and race cars. In that aspect yes your ATS-V and Civic Type-R are generic.
Having that said, I look forward to giving the Civic a try, that car does have nice looks IMO. Same for the Aston, always love those curves.
But hey I’m an older-than-average guy as well and I can fully understand people calling these cars generic.
Lately I’ve been playing a lot more Assetto Corsa and Project CARS again, in those games cars do feel a lot more unique IMO. Since FH and FM are much more arcade, cars in these games do feel more generic indeed. And especially with all the tuning & PI nonsense in the game. I LOVE driving cars in their stock form as authentic as possible, I LOVE tuning (read: tuning, not upgrading) race cars., I love realism. This entire Forza PI and upgrading system is just as realistic as the Vision GT nonsense over at Polyphony. You can take an old car like that Jaguar XJ-S which has in stock form an aweful gearbox. But, it’s stuff like that which gives this car it’s unique characteristics! Yes for a couple of silly PI points I can stuff a 6-speed gearbox in it and fully tune it but where is the fun in that? That Jag will be gone, instead you have your generic tuned car that behaves in a generic way, only this time it’s inside the shell of this Jaguar.
Turn 10 seriously needs to revamp their entire PI and upgrading system. If FM7 will be all about ‘A800’ Jeep Willys again whoppin the floor with the latest Audi’s, BMWs and whatnot then I’m not even remotely interested. I have the highest respect for a car like that Jeep Willeys but ffs, keep everything in context and realistic! And add stock races to FM7! I’m sure with 600 different car models surely you can just race them fine in races together. Project CARS and Assetto Corsa sure don’t need a silly PI system to race different cars together in a race.
Exactly. This is the point I’m trying to get at, we all have our own opinion on cars. To you, older muscle cars may all blend into one. The same happens to me with the vast majority of modern cars.
The only car by the generic standards would be the Holden, as we already have three different generations of that car. I get the game is set in Australia, but how many generations of Commodores are we going to have before they give us the 2000s Monaro?
The cars I have listed are the only ones that will intrigue me how they’re added in, if at all. I’m assuming the GTX would probably be a Barn Find, the rest…Forzathon? Freebies?
The list of cars leaked via last month’s Dev Build gives about 3 more car packs of cars.
