Playground Games

Im very much looking forward to playing this game but sometimes I like to switch off the competitive side and have some mindless fun. A great way for me to do so is through Playground games.

Will we see the return of old favourites like car football and cat and mouse? Tag/Virus just wont cut it any longer. We need variety.

I hope Dan and his team will surprise us.

Short answer: We don’t know.

Long answer: Nothing has been announced or mentioned yet in the interviews/articles published so far. Your best bet is to either Tweet to Dan and see if he responds, or wait until September 10.

The features could return. I heard that some special events like car bowling are coming back. I’ve always wanted car bowling to be an online thing but I’m not sure how they’d structure it. I don’t think there’s been any news on Tag, Pass The It or Keep The It but having more special events makes me hopeful that more things like this can be implemented into the game.

I thought car soccer was actually pretty fun. I’d like to see that return. It was a big change of pace from actual racing.

This is when you go play Horizon 2. They have most of that.

For stuff like Tag/Virus that makes sense, but Cat and Mouse has always been a circuit event.

I find it very strange they haven’t uttered a single sound about this stuff and it worries me. All Dan did say was “silly stuff” was in. But that was for showcases. No word from what i’ve seen about online playground stuff anywhere. And horizon doesn’t have soccer or bowling or even cat and mouse in 2. So you can’t get that stuff in horizon

+1 on Soccer

Hi guys,

I’m always happy to see others in the community show love the playground playlist. I too hope to see this in Motorsport 6, because no matter its (pitiful) inclusion in Horizon 2, it’s a huge bonus in actual gameplay. As much as I love racing in any Forza, racing online is basically identical to racing in singleplayer, thanks to good AI and now drivatars. The greatest fun me and my friends ever had in the Forza universe (so to speak) was playing endlessly in Horizon 1’s playground playlist. KING, INFECTED, CAT ‘N’ MOUSE, REPEAT was our mantra and we always found games with others who loved it too.

To see it almost completely removed from Horizon 2 and poorly, so poorly, done in Motorsport 5 boggles our minds. We’ve been playing these fun diversions since Motorsport 3 introduced tag etc.

Someone needs to get a hold of the developers somehow (cause they obviously don’t look at the forums or xbox live messages). These guys need to know how much more respect they could get if they cultivated the playground playlist. And they need to know how much we loved playground games.

I think its disappointing that Rocket League on PS4 has taken over as this generation’s primary playground driving game. Its so disappointing because Forza Horizon 1’s version was basically perfect and to see it buried beneath simulator racing that lacks active pit crews and popping tyres etc is one of the biggest wastes in AAA.

I wish Turn 10 could see that the circuit racing is the most boring part of Forza. PLAYGROUND playlists is where it’s at; the racing is just the thing you do when your internet connection is down.

Speak for yourself.

circuit racing is boring for you, not for me. I love circuit racing, and hot lapping. I do enjoy taking a break from it occasionally, and I truly enjoyed cat and mouse. However Turn 10 can see just fine. Thanks

I don’t understand how Playground can put in new wheels and new rally kits for their game, but it’s seemingly impossible for Turn 10.

Thank you smart people (Zedzillaaa and NASidney). Your comments have given those others in this PLAYGROUND GAMES thread something to think about. It’s always nice when someone like myself can praise the game, offer perspective and experience, then have that put down by two others who are looking to ensure that circuit racing is the only thing Forza ever does. Racing that is, without pits stops, interactive or otherwise, or without popping tyres, or well, many things.

If Turn 10 is only to looking to appease people like you then I hope the racing has improved in 6.

Tell me, is there any interactive or animated pits…
Is there any popping tyres…
Is there any dynamic weather…
Free flying sand in sand traps…
Is there any number of simulating things that would advance the racing experience besides more cars on the track and static puddles?

I have played the demo lots and I love the puddles. They are awesome. But I’m unaware of any other features that can entice me to fork money out for this in the presence of Halo, Rainbow Six, Fallout 4, Tomb Raider and all the other timely games that want my money. Even Evolve is selling right now for half-price.

You see, I am thinking. Is Forza for thinkers no longer??

On the other hand, they could EASILY just implement the playground features they had established games ago to IMPROVE overall gameplay and value… Features that were done poorly in Motorsport 5 and not so well in Horizon 2.

PS: I’m not looking for arguments. I’m looking for playground games.

There is a whole game devoted to the arcade/causal gamers. Forza motorsports also keeps getting dumb down for the causal gamers. Let’s keep forza motorsports focus on racing and horizon focus non competitive stuff.

I miss Forza 3’s Cat And Mouse so much…

You aren’t the only one.

I don’t understand the secrecy behind not releasing information about the different modes in the playground games.
It has me suspecting there will be none at launch.
If that’s the case, I’m skipping Forza again.
Pre-order would have been a no-brainer if they restored most of the features from forza 4.

Well that’s that Turn 10.

My friend convinced me to spend our money instead on a 2 half-priced Evolves.

Now after that, electricity, internet, Halo, Tomb Raider etc I don’t have enough for Motorsport 6. I didn’t feel that it was worth the NZ$109.95 asking price anyway. Not without (even a mention) of playground games being properly implemented in it, like they were in Horizon 1.

We’ll just stick with our digital copies of both Forza Motorsport 5 and Forza Horizon 2 (and our disk copies of FM2, 3, 4 and FH1 from last gen when backwards compatibility arrives in November).

It was nice. Thanks. No sale.

Why in the world would you want Playground involved in Motorsport? That makes no sense.

Don’t carry much(any) interest in this for sure. Enjoy Forza for the racing, definitely not the sideshow distractions. To each their own.
