Permanent Open Class?

B A and S are best balanced (if we ignore exotractor soft abuse) with biggest car variety.

Class x it’s just one current meta car race,
P and R shred tyres, and wins car that manages tyres the best (or u use sport tyres in some cars xd to cheese pi system)
E-C is just soft tyre abuse lobby, if u take anything normal with street/sport tyres u are likely to be rammed mid corner due to grip difference.

I think the reason is to ensure there enough people to fill the lobbies

Bringing back permanent Open Lobbies would make more people return to the game than if they just changed the themes.

Agree to disagree

Your first paragraph is dead on. The way I’ve decided to look at it is that if i wanna use an uncompetitive car i just accept beforehand I’ll be doing mid to rearward pack battles, like driving an uncompetitive f1 car haha.

The only thing that ruins the fun then is people that just don’t qualify blowing past me. It can be very hard to make up places.

It won’t increase the playerbase by 4.5x

For sure not,

In the long term it might shrink the player base, soon as I get into a 4 or 5 car lobby I quit playing

Yeah going doing E-C, B-S and R-X seems like good idea, since everyone get what they like, someone likes to do momentum races and soft abuse they race in E-C, someone want to drive more balanced cars, they do b-s, and someone that likes to go fast, picks R-X class races.

S class is nice but the Porsche GT1 is as cancerous as the Exocet

oh well thats true, tho i think there are other competive cars. its just that pork GT1 is easy to abuse

Like in a class, Old formula cars are faster than soft abusing exocet, but since u basicaly need to 4 wheel drift on some corners for optimal lap time, players just dont use them lol

There will always be a fastest car.

Sure on that thing but from fastest to broken there is some difference: the Exocet in B ad A class and the GT1 in S are too easy to drive and abuse. They give top performance in most tracks, are easy to drive and glueded in corner. This can be good for newcomer who can have a feeling for the game with a meta car easy to use, but in the hand of a good player you are forced to play meta as well.

Meta literally stands for most effective tactic available.

A race is inherently competitive, any car with even a 1% performance advantage will inevitably end up the most popular because people want the best tool for the job.

The PI and tyre system currently isn’t suited to creating perfectly balanced cars with every build, track, weather and player skill combination on offer, and never will be. That’s a bigger issue than any individual car’s perceived competitiveness.

Try the Nissan R382 on sports tires. Does 1:44s on Watkins Glen/2:01s on Suzuka/6:47s on the Nordschleife and wipes the GT1 on acceleration heavy tracks on race pace.
Qualifying doesn’t matter because it will leave the GT1 for dead on the launch.

It’s the strongest regular sports tires S-class car (excluding engine-glitched F1 GT/Ultima/Valhalla).

To an extent. There are cars so bad they won’t be competitive regardless of track/condition.
'17 NSX, Charger Hellcat, Jaguar F-Type to name a few.

I have all of these 3 as engine-glitched cars and while they are up to 2.5 seconds/lap (Suzuka) faster than a regular build they are still crap.

In the same way there are cars so overpowered within the PI system driver skill nearly becomes obsolote.

It’s because the AI can’t drive them properly, same way superchargers get generous PI.

For those you need to rev very high into redline and the AI tends to shift early, which is slower and scores them lower on PI. Been that way for 15 years which is why Hondas are so competitive.

I tried once Valhalla in s class, not glitched, just street tyres and engine swap with max weight balast, and it was quite competitive on downforce/speed tracks like grand oak.

Wouldn’t be enough players returning. The multiplayer lobby selection is the least of this game’s problems right now.

Atleast it would keep players that’s still play, like me, the only races I do are b, a and s class. Everything else is too broken for me.
I just had one week of some competitive racing In class a, now it’s time to play some other games and W8 for ABS to return

I would love permanent R class - than S or A maybe B
The classes below are too boring for me because they are much too slow. The classes above are okay for me, but I notice that many players no longer have control of the cars. Often it’s not even bad intentions, but they cause accidents and the lobbies descend into chaos.
