I noticed two bugs when creating a custom keyboard layout.
Normally, when using the preset keyboard layouts, both gas and brakes buttons cause the car to accelerate or brake smoothly from 0% to 100%. That means, you can’t go from 0% to 100% instantly. That makes it easier to use non analog buttons, cause you can control the “pedals” better by tapping the key, so avoiding locking up, in the case of brakes.
The problem is once you change the GAS or BRAKE mappings, the key you set will now go instantly to 100%.
Steps to reproduce:
-Go to “Options”, then “Controller”;
-In “Keyboard Options”, select the “1: WASD and NumPad” layout;
-Select the “GAS” input, and press the W key to use as gas (note W is already the GAS key in this layout);
-Press “C” to save your custom layout;
Now go to the race, and press the “W” key. You’ll realize when you press the key, the throttle will go to 100% instantly.
That can be easily seen in the tachometer (lower right corner of the screen), or even in telemetry page.
The second issue I encountered:
At least the “LOOK STRAIGHT BACK” input cannot be mapped.
To reproduce, use the exact same steps from the previous bug, but select “LOOK STRAIGHT BACK” input, mapping to any key.
In-game, you’ll realize the key you’ve just mapped simply doesn’t work.
Hope it can be fixed.
Thanks
