Party chat in multiplayer bug

So I jumped on to the multiplayer hoppers with my friend in the party, i went in and found that i could not hear him anymore. After about a minute i worked out how to switch to party chat using RT On the controller, i then went into one of the hoppers and found that the game had automatically switched me back to game chat, a bit annoyed but undeterred i pressed RT fully thinking that i would be able to speak to my friend in the party, after trying numerous times to switch back to party chat i realised that it was not even an option anymore

Please can someone notify me if there is a way to fix this

I honestly don’t think it is a bug.
I think it’s designed that way.

And like a plethora of other things in this game, a moronic decision by T10.

There is a fix, when it switches to game chat you want to go to the party menu, go to party options and switch to game chat then back to party chat. Hope this helps.
