One of the few GT1 racers not featured in Forza, the Esperante GTR-1 didn’t have the pedigree of a well-known manufacturer. What it did have was a front mid-engined layout, a unique prospect in GT1 racing, and a 600 hp Roush V8. The car actually had reasonable success, winning a few races at home in the US. Recently, Panoz has started to offer replicas of the original car, providing a unique opportunity to buy a new GT1 racing car.
Gosh, I hope they get the Panoz license again. Along with Callaway, this is other manufacturer that made some fascinating cars using modern muscle car engines.
My brain hatched something; If they decide to put the GTR-1 into the game (with the racing version as a body kit option), they ought to put in an option for a hybrid engine swap as a reference to the Q9 Hybrid racer, A.K.A. “Sparky”, pictured below.
