When painting the stock wheels on the Subaru BRZ, only the inner rim is coloured rather than the whole wheel.
Started Forza Motorsport with a 2020 Ford Mustang GT, upgraded brakes and a few other items. Went to paint and brake calipers wont change color, after market wheels don’t seem to adjust as expected.
Went to paint my rewarded '20 C8, had similar issue with painting the stock wheels. only patterns seem to display across the wheel face., But stock calipers are paintable Also issue with wheels on the new Mazda Miata but stock calipers are paintable.
Starting out with my 3 go-to cars, 3 problems. Really sucks if I have to spend so much time leveling a car to only find out that the upgrades won’t let me customize them
Did anyone test the paint booth prior to launch?
Last night at launch, attempted to paint race brake caliper upgrade on 1995 Toyota MR2, but the calipers remain red no matter which paint colour is applied.

Only OEM wheels and brakes can be painted. Aftermarket wheels and brakes stay red.
I am also having this issue on every wheel I’ve tried to paint, regardless of whether it’s stock of aftermarket
Same here stock wheels on the latest brz only colour inner barrel and seems that the break caliper and wheel icon are mixed up
Also experiencing this issue w/ both the '21 & '14 Golf Rs I’ve been levelling so far, definitely need this feature added back if this is by design.
Seems like it’s more a bug/not implemented intended feature to me since you can go through the whole process of painting &/or tinting the windows w/ no indicator that the parts can’t be painted or tinted, it just doesn’t actually preview or apply the change.
My black colours appear to turn light grey, when I want black rims on my car, it does not change from silver to black, the same issue with brake calipers, they do not change colour.
It’s the main reason I won’t post replay clips, I hate black wheels turning light grey once the car starts moving.
Hoping this, the flickering and controller steering issues are patched on the 10th (official launch)
Same here. Some wheels don’t paint right. Some calipers don’t change color at all. Sometimes only front caliper changes.
I think this is an issue on all cars because I couldn’t paint the brakes on my 2022 Subaru BRZ either. The brakes were stock btw.
I have the same issue, but with the Lotus Emira unfortunately , no matter what I do, the calipers will not change from the stock color of red.
A number of wheels and calipers simply can’t be painted in the paint menu it says the color has been applied and it just doesn’t change, especially with the matt effect paints
Metal rim paints don’t seem to be working properly on all cars/rims, the metals to be exact, ie aluminum/brass/copper/chrome. It seems to be only painting the inner barrel of the rims even if a different area is selected.
I have noticed that if you try and change the wheel colour to brass or copper nothing happens on a lot of wheels and it doesn’t matter whether its factory or aftermarket. If it won’t do it with factory it wont do it with any the majority of the time. Some times it will make it a mixture of shiny gold and chrome to the wheels even though i am trying to put a semigloss or brushed finish on. The steel colour normally just stayes whatever the factory wheel colour is. Sometimes i have also noticed that if the outer wheel isn’t changing colour the iner barrel will go shiny gold or silver depending on what you are trying to change it to. I have also noticed that the wheel nuts will change to the gold colour when the wheel wont change.
Bump - Encountering this issue too, just tried to paint aftermarket wheels on a 94’ Miata and they wouldn’t change colour, I’ve noticed on multiple cars that attempting to paint the brake calipers just doesn’t work at all.
