I am just wandering what’s the general guidelines to tune for oval tracks? And what’s the priority of upgrade?
Tire is not important?
Suspension doesn’t matter?
Everything is about higher power?
Don’t bother weight reduction?
Transmission is tuned more for speed?
Both front and rear tires toe out?
What u need is a car with a grat grip and great power, to go fast in the lines and in the turns.
With class do u want to run?
I went very well is R2875 with a 4wd F40 Competizione with stock gear box, high aerodynamics, larger tyres possible (race type), and the hole suspension tuned for grip.
I’m a big fan of the racing on the Ovals in Forza, because I’m not very good on the Road Tracks.
For C Class Oval racing you will only need the Acura TSX for all the tracks if you want to get high on the Leaderboard.
Even some of the tunes for La Mans are OK for the Ovals.
You can watch the Leaderboard replays to see how much HP and power Torque the cars are using.
Some of the Top Leaderboard racers have posted their tunes on the Storefront.
a car for motegi, sedona ovals going to be built with a different set of priorities than sunset or the test track oval, with indy somewhere between. the shorter tracks favor acceleration and handling… think weight reduction. the big ovals, think power. and if it doesn’t handle quite well enough on the small or have quite enough power for the big, take it to indy.
Power and weight are always important. You must be able to match the top speed of the other cars. Good acceleration out of the turns is also important. In C class you may be able to run stock suspension, but having adjustable parts will certainly be a benefit. You must also be able to at least adjust your final drive for each track. Tires is the one area you can play around in that class. Try different combinations of compounds and widths to see what grip levels you are comfortable with. You can save a few PI points for other parts that way.
Check the leaderboards in that class to see what times you need to run, then adjust your build accordingly.
