So I preordered the Standard Edition of Horion 3 on Microsoft in the digital form. Minutes later, I realized that it was the standered edition and not the ultimate as intended(I was on mobile). Is there a way to upgrade to the ultimate edition? I’m not worried about early access but I do want to get all the DLC including the new expansion pass, and feel if I buy all the dlc adding up to the ultimate edition I am applicable for the same discounts. I have contacted both Xbox and Microsoft support and gotten dented help by both due to return polices on digital games being nonexistent. Thanks.
I am a huge fan of the game, and am looking to get as much out of it as I can on a student budget.
this morning, I decided I wanted the Ultimate Edition (I had already purchased and downloaded the Deluxe version). I called Microsoft support, and because it hadn’t been released yet (to play yet, anyways), they refunded me the purchase of the deluxe edition. I had no trouble at all getting the refund on my digital copy.
I purchased the Ultimate edition, and thought I was going to have to re-download, but it just downloaded a small file and started right up.

You can only contact Microsoft or xbox support and get a refund and then get the ultimate
You can only do so with the retailer you bought from
Its not true that you cant get a refund as per previous post…i have also done so in the past
The car pass and vip pass are all available separately
They dont cost that much more than buying the ultimate
Might save 10 or 15 at most
The expansion pass is an extra again …its not part of the ultimate edition at all

Standard Edition: $60
Ultimate Edition: $100
Difference: $40
Ultimate DLC:
Car Pass: $30
VIP: $20
All Stars Car pack: $10
Total DLC cost: $60
Direct cost saved on Ultimate: $20
Expansion Pass (normal): $35
Expansion Pass (Ultimate Discount): $25
Difference: $10
Total savings of Ultimate Edition: $30
$30 dollars might not be a lot to some people, but on a student budget and for a simple purchasing error, it’s painful enough to warrant a replacement.
Hmm well contact xbox support and demand the refund like the guy before me posted

I paid full price for the expansion pass no discount for having ultimate edition
Being in Australia I’ve paid about 200 to get the ulimate edition plus the expansion
Maybe you can wait till they have the sales and then you’ll het it even cheaper if that tight on money
There is a forzathon coming up in october which might have giveaways
They also often have giveaways in the twitch events each week
I called Microsoft again and got the result I wanted. Refunded and Ultimate Edition purchased. Now just waiting on the download. Thanks for the help!
