Online Showdown Races Broken??

Been hopping on the online showdown races at the car meet at the airport and my word I have to say that they are incredibly broken. No sort of competition at all. The class loophole is ridiculous! I’m racing the classic Drag build Dodge Dart and getting absolutely massacred by D class cars because they’re using the loophole that they get to start earlier. AS I WAS TYPING THIS I JUST ENTERED INTO A RACE WITH 3 C CLASS CARS AND WAS BEATEN BY 14 SECONDS. ALMOST EXACTLY THE HEADSTART THEY GET. There is no reason that should be possible! From what I can see, they’re all using tunes that don’t make an ounce of sense. Speed, Accel, and Launch all above 9 but the other two below 4…? Maybe I’m complaining because “their tunes are better” but come on…

My experience has been different. If I race with a car that is stock and has no tunes, I get beaten every time, even with a head start. I took my AMC Rebel and did the engine swap to the 12 cylinder, slapped a supercharger on it and adjusted the rear end gearing for the fastest 0-100 time. Surprisingly that gave me a final drive of 3.08. The car is now at rating 708 and nobody can beat it unless they rent it and use it too. I get a head start over higher rated cars and because my top speed is 227, there is no way they can catch up to me. Those cars you mention with those tunes have obviously been tuned only for drag racing. My Rebel is very hard to handle out on the road but it’s great for getting those unreachable XP or fast travel signs on top of things. It’s acceleration is so fast, I can get all of them. In a street race, I have problems because I can’t stay on the road and as a result, miss checkpoints. “Horses for courses” as they say.

See I had that happen when I first started doing the drag races, but in my experience the Dodge Dart SS is one of the best drag cars and I’ve built this thing out for drag racing. With a top speed of 270 and a 0-100 in 3.3 seconds it doesn’t make much sense to me how these C-class cars are outperforming it. But maybe I’m just not using the loopholes to my advantage

Free roam and then drag race or rivals are your friend.

Those are showdown drag tunes. Only launch, acceleration, top speed and a PI class as low as possible matter. Why waste PI on pointless things like braking or the hilariously overvalued tires, when all you need is to go straight? Better just keep the bare essentials and keep the car’s class as low as possible with minimal loss in drag performance.

The real problem is how they’re trying to balance drag performance with an overall performance index instead of, you know, drag performance.
