They have the Top Gear track yet leave out their off road version that was used in the season after Clarkson, Hammond and May left. All these off road vehicles with nowhere to use them properly. The only reason they’re included is so T10 could claim 700+ cars. Doesn’t matter that nobody wanted these cars, just that they have 700+ cars available.
Strangely enough, these so-called off-road vehicles will, in fact, drive on paved roads. Shocking, I know. I’ve found that a couple of off-road vehicles that were in FH3 work better on the tracks than they did in that game’s off-road, actually.
That said, while there are a number of off-road and rally vehicles I’d rather see in car packs than most race cars, super/hypercars, BMWs, or Ferraris… the two in this latest pack were pretty boring to me.
Some of them are not bad laptime wise as well, on the right tracks. People disregard the off roaders before trying them. Look at the Meyers Manx, that thing is a bullet in the right hands.
They’ll drive on paved roads, but tell me, how many offroad cars do you see dominating races? 1-20 lobbies? If that? They can do well, as Ti said, but, 80% of the time, they’re boats with wheels on them.
Not talking about dominant cars though. A car only needs to be competitive which is what I’m saying. Some of the off roaders are competitive in the right hands.
Shouldn’t base a cars worth on whether it is dominant or not.
It’s more that offroad trucks and buggies are not very relevant to a game that’s 100% tarmac tracks.
So it kind of stings that T10 are filling the game with them and not with cars that are more suited to the motorsport series, like current model GT3/GTE cars.
Logical would be to guess, that there will be some sort of expansion, which will include off-road or gravel/dirt tracks, BUT it is T10 and they have proven more than once, that there is hardly any logic in their doings. In other words, I wouldn’t bet on that off-road expansion thought.
Vote with your wallet - that is the best advice to follow in the future.
1st, i thought… well, i don´t want to push the dlc car packs forward with cars which make no sense (offroad actually), then i thought to buy the cars i want extra… but the price isn´t rentable. 2 cars i want have a total of 6€, 6,99€ for the complete pack… that´s the reason for me right now, to buy it not in any way.
i´m with you, we need definitly offroad tracks for this cars. GT Sport, Project Cars, all of them make this possible right now.
Maybe instead of stamping your keyboards howling at how off-roaders don’t belong on the track or complaining that your desired car didn’t make it in the DLC pack, you guys could simply look on the fun side of things and simply convert these off-road machines into track day weapons for use in Free Play or even Multiplayer mode while we wait for a possible off road track DLC that should hopefully be coming in the future.
I’d love to see some offroad tracks in Forza Motorsport, but then Motorsport and Horizon become closer and I’m not sure that’s what they want. Probably shouldn’t include offroad cars if there are no offroad tracks and that would solve it.
You do realize the trophy trucks in this game race on asphalt in real life right? I watch them every year in St Pete FL during the grand prix for IndyCar. They also race Long Beach during the grand prix. Look up Robby Gordon’s SST racing. Now if only Turn10 would add the portable ramps.
Sorry I’ll rephrase - the trophy trucks are similar to the SST series. Either way it’s an off road truck racing on asphalt. SST is just a smaller scale trophy truck per my conversation with Robby Gordon this year.
Forza is about cars. So it makes sense for Turn 10 to add a lot of vehicles/cars that aren’t very practical. Like off road vehicles, that big rig truck from the demo, and the Warthog from Forza 4.
The slogan for Forza used to be, ‘Turning Car lovers into gamers, and gamers into Car lovers’. However, i do think there should be an off road expansion of some type.
That really upsets me as well, and that’s why i haven’t bought the game yet, and won’t be buying it until there’s a really good deal on the ultimate edition, maybe after FH4 comes out, i don’t mind waiting! Hell, i’ll probably buy FH4 before FM7 actually… LOL Both Forza and Gran Turismo are making mistakes they shouldn’t be doing by now, it’s not like they are the only racing game around like they used to be few years back, i hope they realize that as soon as possible.
I’m ‘that guy’ who loves tuning and racing underdog cars such as SUVs and Trucks. I usually race A Class online. That being said, many of the Trophy Trucks, Offroad/Lifted Vehicles, and some SUVs get on two wheels/roll over even with low compound/tire width. I’m even disappointed about this. Im all about having SUVs and Trucks in the game, but why have them in if they just flip? I enjoy cars that aren’t competitive and trying to get them to podium…but this? Come on now…
figure 8 race from forza6 we haven`t done one yet on 7 but now im considering it.
first off this is how we blow off steam after serious racing. if you browse through all our videos you will see we do actual racing.
i have devised a figure 8 course at Virginia. set the race for one lap, cosmetic damage, and have a 10 minute time limit or however long you agree on. the figure 8 consists of the long back straight do a 180 around the corner workers island at top of first hill, cross over tarmac at the cement pad do the jump and rejoin at the beginning of the back straight. repeat this for you determined time limit. when time is up its a free for all to the finish.
