Not a huge problem for me but just a warning to the devs that it exists, if you make OBS do Game Capture, set it to capture a specific window and that window being forza horizon 4, the game freezes, crashes and wont start until you disable OBS, doing Display Capture doesnt crash it, dont know about “capture any fullscreen application”, since my OBS doesnt recognize Forza in that mode.
Yep. I had noticed this the other day. Which is odd as I was able to capture the demo with OBS. With the full game, the game crashes as soon as OBS starts. Or it fails to start it OBS was already running.
To verify this, I removed all mentions of FH4 from OBS and started the game. It worked fine. However, as soon as I added FH4 and captured the game, it crashed.
ImunityPT, are you running a Nvidia card and if so, did you recently upgrade your drivers?

Same issue here. Game Capture crashes FH4 as OBS tries to hook into it (enable/disable “anti-cheat hook” has no effect). All Game Capture options tried.
Window Capture produces no image but doesn’t crash the game. All Window Capture options tried.
Display Capture seems the only viable option at the moment. I’ve successfully used Game Capture in FM7 recently so I can only assume that this is an issue that will be resolved in time for FH4. Fingers crossed. My guess is that as soon as OBS tries to hook into the game FH4 freaks out and says “Nope!” and just closes itself.
Running latest Nvidia driver 411.70 (09/27/2018). No change from previous driver. Same results.

Same issue when i trying to use OBS or Bandicam.
While the capture program is just turned on (not recording), when you click on the window of Horizon 4, it’s immediately stops game.
I got the same issue. I have tried OBS, Livestream OBS, xsplit broadcast, windows game bar, Nvidia shadow play, the game open but when I started the capture its crash itself.
I have a Nvidia 1070, and I have update for the last drive.
I am so angry and upset about it, I going to talk with my attorney because if I can not broadcast my gameplay, I will taking the Studio Microsoft to the court. I have spend a lot of money on this game three months in advance.

I came to the same conclusions with OBS crashing Horizon4 when troubleshooting yesterday.
Game will crash with most ‘capture’ applications attempting to run the game,
this is making streaming it very difficult…
Have this issue as well. I hate streaming with display capture with all the risk it comes with so it would be best to fix this issue asap for streamers.
I’m using Action! Recorder and the same thing happens. I can’t launch the game with it loaded. I also tried XSplit and that didn’t work either.

Does anyone else have a problem where you record the game, nothing went wrong, and the recording hitches occasionally, the game takes about 60-70% of gpu and 50% cpu so obs has plenty of space to do things, this game does not like to be recorded
seems a little weird I can’t use my OBS to broadcast, yet they have mixer built into Horizon. hmmmm. slick one M$

probly lost any chance of the big streamers playing this game
and even if you paid them to stream this they would not cause you still dont have the window capture and game capture working for this game
seems like they dont want to fix the game seeing that its stilll an issue
