November Bounty Hunter - Dan Greenawalt

I’m sitting at 1:37:7xx

Using a Fanatec CSL ELite wheel. Let’'s see what he does this weekend.

Swear Dan must be using me as a ghost as again he beat me by ~15/1000ths overnight…so of course I had to go out and beat him again this morning  Currently sitting at a 1:39.111 and I reckon there’s still a high 1:38 in me if I have the right bunny. Main gains this morning were the hairpin, turn 4, and through the corkscrew. If I had to give a tip to people struggling to get below 1:40 (apart from the ghost bunny) it would be to brake early, turn in early, and get on the power early.

Standard controller, manual w/o clutch, ABS, braking line only, all other assists off.

Turn that off and learn how to brake without it; you can shave a second or two off your time.

Well, I turned ABS off…

and dropped from a 1:39.110 to a 1:37.927. There’s still probably another 2 tenths hiding somewhere if I get everything perfect, and that time was without a bunny to chase either.

In saying that though, my consistency was much worse than with ABS on.

Keep it off from now on. You’ve seen the lap time improvement. Consistency will come naturally after a short while

I’ve tried at various stages over the years to wean myself off ABS but the lack of feel in regards to the lockup point (even after the Bone introduced trigger feedback) meant that I was never as consistent. Also, I’d start off ok but towards the end of races or in panic situations I’d jam the trigger down and lock up, at least ABS gave me that safety net.

Can’t justify the price of an Elite controller for trigger locks, so ABS stays for now.

Did the throttle thing in FM6 today to keep the Cayman from shifting into 7th on the Daytona oval,7th gear was an overdrive, lost about 12 to 15 mph in 7th,so keep it in 6th with throttle.

So the Escort wasn’t chosen…
Go Dan! Set a 1:30 because now it doesn’t even matter to me. Lykan & Ferarri = dust collectors.
Great event though, awesome car on an awesome track. Best Bounty Hunter yet, don’t really know how it gets better from here… Maybe XY GT on Bathurst.

For those that didn’t see the 2016 Lykan Hypersport won the vote to be the prize car.

Not even 6,000 votes. No idea why they use twitter instead of their own website.

Yeah, shame I couldn’t vote. Was hoping for the Ferrari.

What prevented you from voting? Twitter is free.

I’ll pass. It would have been cool if they included voting on something like, y’know, their own website.

Ah well, life goes on. I’ll end up being able to receive the Ferrari anyway so all is well in the world.

& because I’m new to the forum everything I say needs to be approved by a forum master, so by the time it’s posted to the public my opinion is completely irrelevant. Meanwhile any nobody whether they play the game or not can vote on twitter, hooray…
(Only half of the posts I’ve tried to make have actually made the cut, so let me say) this is the best Forza yet.

It might have to do with time and effort. The Forza Motorsport account on Twitter has 228k+ followers, and you can set up a poll in seconds on Twitter.

Some people actually value their privacy. Crazy, right?

You can win the Ferrari by getting a clean lap below 1:40.000
