Noob help?

So I bought the Day One Limited Edition copy of Forza 5 (from a reliable retailer, Gamestop) but didn’t get my xbox one until this week. I redeemed the code for the packs and vip status and received a message saying that my vip status has been recognized and that I would receive car packs and a badge. Just to verify, I looked for the badge but it wasn’t there. Also, my garage doesn’t have any cars other than my starting genesis, a few holiday-themed cars, and the X-class lotus. I also did not receive the latest Alpine stars pack.

tl;dr I have the day one limited edition but didnt redeem until this week because I just got my xbox one, and nearly everything appears to be missing

is there a little crown next to your name online? that little crown is the badge. if you get 70k per level up you have the vip. you dont automatically get the cars, you get to buy them with credits you earn. perople that dont have the dlc cant buy the cars with credits. dont worry about credits, espically as a vip. when the game 1st came out i was getting 17k per level up and racing with every assist on. i still had plenty of credits to buy ever car i needed for career before i needed it. the servers crashed in feburary and i was board so i started buying cars, i bought every non dlc car and had credits left over in about 2 months of playing.

and be careful with gamestop. they will sell used as new. they had the only copy of fm3 ultimate in west phoenix new or used. my “new” game came as 2 dvds in a plastic bag, i didn’t even get the greed dvd cover/box. they let their employees take the games home and use them, but they aren’t used. you take in a new game they will tell you to open it to prove the disk in still inside, then then tell you the plastic wrap is broken so its used. used vs new depends on if they are buying it or selling it, not on if its actually used.

I would like to comment on DLC car packs for a moment.

For some reason, people think that buying DLC car packs means they should get those cars in their garages automatically because they paid real-world money for them. They also spent real-world money buying the game, which included buying the cars everyone gets on the disc regardless of LCE or DLC, but they don’t expect to automatically get all those in their garages. It’s the same thing, just from a different source. Whether you pay for the cars on the disc or pay for them from a download, either way you’re paying money for them, so there’s no reason to expect one source to automatically gift them to your garage but have to earn the others.
