It would be nice to see a change to the starting grid format in multiplayer. Especially in league format. The problem is that when you have cars on the grid that are not participating. IE>> not racing just sitting still. I know that they are ghosted, but the issue I see is when you come out of the final turn to the front stretch to cross line is that the car is there. I see and do myself jam the brakes, swing wide, collide with other racers because of this. Its just instinct to avoid the ghosted car. Why can they not be removed from track after a period of time from not receiving any inputs to the game? Just a concern and suggestion for future updates.
There was an update I think in November perhaps December? That does that. No inputs received for a period of time results in the player being booted from the lobby.
The ghost car that you will be seeing is someone who is driving and is somewhere else on the track but bad connection or something causes a ghost to be left on the grid.
I know what you mean about the jarring effect it can have coming round a corner, or looking back to then look forward and see this car that you are about to smack into. I was in a lobby yesterday and there was a car constantly on the grid like that. Anytime I saw it at the last second I’d hit the brakes as gut reaction. Keeps making me jump!
The AFK removal was undone in a subsequent patch because it was causing other issues.
It was only undone for private lobbies
MULTIPLAYER
· Private matches will no longer be subject to AFK restrictions that cause players to be booted due to inactivity, as in public multiplayer matches.
Most of the time they’re not inactive cars, they’re racing but due to a network error your Xbox isn’t getting any position information from them. It’s possible that on their screens you’re the one sitting on the grid.
they removed it cause that is what started the constant lobby disconnecting for the whole lobby that went on for two terrible months. Let them get 100 points a race. Better than the lobby disconnecting.
