No race start countdown?

What on earth is going on with the races starting straight away?

Even in drag races, it just starts instantly

Please for the love of god bring back the “countdown” before a race actually starts and make the Christmas trees on drag strips actually work

Very difficult to get a good start without some form of countdown.

If you look at the big monitor at the start/finish it says “ready go”. Enjoy your 1 second of prep time. Lol

It’s super annoying, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it

This is my biggest gripe with the game. I’d love to see a patch address this.
Especially annoying when trying to use manual clutch and you get no chance to see or hear engine revs.

Completely impossible to do manual w/ clutch properly

Not even possible to get a good launch

We need a countdown!

I don’t see it as any different than any of the others, just presented differently

It’s very different. If you’re running clutch in a car with big turbos, your start is delayed… can’t rev up beforehand and if you just hit the throttle, it may not move. It’s really dumb. A standard Forza countdown sequence is absolutely something that needs to come in an update. I mean what about drag racing? Doing that without being able to hold your revs for the launch is absurd.

Yeah, it’s a bit weird. And the AI seems to launch like a rocket most of the time.

I know it has been like this since the first one but why and who thought that it would be a good idea to start a race without a countdown? It really screws me up sometimes.

It does seem like a very odd thing for them to change from past games. The most ridiculous aspect of this is with drag races. I don’t know how they fail at drag racing so badly. Motorsport has always been the same way; the drag racing seems like an afterthought. No tree countdown, and the end is very abrupt. I’d rather sit at the tree myself and wait for the light to change, but then the speed trap leaves you about 10ft of stopping distance at the end. The fact that they took the effort to implement drag racing more prominently in FH4 and didn’t even put in a proper track with room to stop at the end is mind blowing to me. I’m happy to have what we got, but I just don’t know what they were thinking. It’s a huge game and they have their requirements to meet I’m sure.

It’s funny cause the drag strip at the Horizon Festival is way too short. Most S2 cars probably start their 3rd of 4th gear before the strip is over. It might be able to accommodate D class drag races though.

Seriously, why didn’t they just build another massive airport strip and have the 3 light downtown there? Such a missed opportunity.

I think the race length at the Festival is fine for realistic drag racing rather than the 2 mile top speed runs at the airport. The different length drag strips are nice to have, but they all need a proper stopping distance at the end. The airports were always fun places to go though, especially in H2.

I mean it didnt bother me that much at first but i’d love to rev up to get a decent launch at the start of each race. If you dont have enough power or torque your launch will NOT benefit you. Even when starting up front you may get passed

Please fix this guys, it is 100% needed.
