I am new to Forza. I know nothing about its pricing history, and I was wondering what is the best way to buy Horizon 4. Right now it is on Sale in the Microsoft store?
Is it better to buy the Ultimate Edition for 8829 Japanese yen (sale price), or buy the Standard Edition for 4843 yen (that’s a 4000 yen cheaper) and then pick up the DLCs and add-ons (that are included in Ultimate) later when they go on sale?
Has the sales/discount history shown that I could get everything for much less than that 4000 yen difference?
If you are new to Forza, get the standard edition. There is no guarantee that you will like it, and you may regret spending twice as much for the ultimate edition later on. Although i think the demo is still downloadable, so you might as well give it a try to see if you like it.
If you do like it, then there are 2 options, either get the standard if you just want to race sometimes, or get the ultimate straight away, because deluxe doesn’t offer much really.
Standard has the Formula 4 drift car pack, which is 7 drift biased cars.
Deluxe has the above pack plus the Car Pass. Car pass is 2 exclusive cars each week. Some of them are good, some of them are not so much, so its entirely up to you but i would say it doesn’t worth the extra money.
Ultimate edition however is a different story, it has the Formula 4 car pack, the Car Pass, the VIP membership, the 2 upcoming DLC’s and the James Bond car pack.
VIP membership has exclusive rewards such as a free house early on, double credits for race rewards, double forzathon points, i think you even get some free Forza Edition cars too for free and a few other things that i forgot.
If you are just a casual xbox player who turns on his xbox occasionally to kill time, get the standard and wait for all the other bits to be on sale so you will spend your money in small bits instead of paying a huge amount in one go. The game loses a bit of its charm after you finished solo, because multiplayer needs a few things to be fixed, tweaked to be good, but hopefully the devs are already working on it.
Yeah actually game pass is a good idea, completely missed that.
Currently i could get a month for just £1 but its an one-off offer. Not sure about other countries, but here in the UK, all xbox consoles come with a free one month game pass code, then if you get the £1 offer you can get 2 months for basically a price of 4 Freddos.
